We had only one hour to visit but it was extraordinarily good. Being members of the UK National Trust we gained entry free of charge. however, we would have been very happy to pay the admission charges.
It was a delight to see the details of the past owners, The Fyfe, Fyffe, Goodall and Low families and how they used and changed this cottage.
We understand that the cottage is closed since the Kaikoura earthquake in November 2016, a week after we visited, but when it re-opens please make every effort to visit. A fantastic and fascinating site with immense insights into the evolution of Kaikoura.
