This is a great place to stay - south of the main township of Kaikoura, but set right on the beach.
Amenities are fine, and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Picnic tables set up for eating at, again right near the beach. Just a beautiful setting.

Room Tip: Get a site by the beach

Spent two nights here in a camp sight. Managed to get a site right by the beach with a little walkway taking us there. Amazing to fall asleep listening to the sounds of the ocean! The staff were super friendly and happy to have a joke/conversation. Facilities were very nice and clean. Would recommend to anyone needing a place in Kaikoura.

The facilities at this campsite are great, with free five minute showers and generally well maintained facilities. The spot is fantastic and the entire family loved being lulled to sleep by the waves, and the real fruit ice cream, mini golf, giant connect four, playground and flying fox were real bonuses. We were here for three nights from the 27th of December 2017 to the 1st of January 2018, and for the most part, had a great time. Unfortunately, there were a few aspects of our stay which were disappointing. There are quite a lot of quad bikes at this holiday park, and from down from dawn to dusk children and adults of all ages zoomed through the campsite with absolutely no regard for the speed and age limit in place (these rules were not visibly enforced). It would be nice if quads had a spot set away from tents to ride, or restricted to the beach. On New Years Eve, we asked the campsite owner if we could set up a fire on the beach. He agreed and said that all was fine. At 9:30 that night he marched up the beach and told us that we had got him in trouble and had better move our fire down the beach to the waterline if we didn't want to get in trouble too. Quarter of an hour later he and another woman zoomed towards us on a quad screaming that it was "too dangerous" and that we had to pit our fire out right now. The wind had changed and I understand that, at this time of year, the fire danger is greatly increased, but the manner in which we were confronted was most unpleasant. When we returned to our tent site, the toilets had been flooded and the doors locked, but no signage of any kind had been put up , so a queue of people were waiting for a toilets which would never open instead of being redirected to the other facility half a kilometre away. I would imagine that, at a less busy season, this would be an amazing place to stay, but I would not recommend coming here in the festive season as the park was just to busy and understaffed be fully enjoyed.

Spent three days here with the relatives. Powered caravan site. Was just perfect for the kids. Space was a little tight but that was due to the Christmas holidays. Great helpful staff like the grounds med Dave and Phil means we’ll be back. Toughest crazy golf too. Great showers too.

The wife and I stayed here our first night campervanning in the South Island. Great location and clean facilities. Laundry worked very well too. Plenty of privacy and the seal colony is a short drive away.
