Such a great time with kaikoura kayaks! Although the weather was freezing and raining we had a great time, got the appropriate gear and had a a great guide! Would recommend for anyone looking for something fun to do and see some great sights!

My husband and I did a morning kayak along with 6 other people and our guide - Conner. It was a cloudy day and we didn't see any dolphin, but we had a good time. We kayaked out from Jimmy Armes Beach to Point Kean and got to see many seals both in the water and on the rocks. It was an enjoyable and peaceful experience for us. We saw many birds up close as well as they are cruising the wind right above the waves.

I was a bit worried that it would be cold as it's getting into winter, but we were pretty comfortable being in the kayak for about 2 hours. They provided a wind proof jacket and neoprene shoes for us which were good. Also, neoprene skirt that went around our seat helped keep us dry in the kayak.

I would rank this experience in one of the best close contact experiences with animals that I've ever had.

We encountered dolphins, seals and a penguin. The dolphins swam right next and under us for a while, which was really awesome.

Tyler was our guide and he was fun, friendly and knowledgeable about the place and its animals.

Great experience!

It was nice to support the locals after the earthquake. It was a sunny day and we have seen seals, penguins and the famous New Zealand bird.
Unfortunately both my girlfriend and I got seasick but the guide was super helpful and towed us back to the shore.
Would definitely recommend it!
