Great place a few kms from the centre of town. The room was perfect, with a great bed, and plenty of space.
Found the shower, great, but a bit of a step to get into, and out of. The only issue was the closeness of the room to the road. The early morning train, disturbing the sleep.

Room tip: Ask for a room away from the road.

This was a great hotel. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Seriously nice and kind people as well as being very professional and efficient.

The hotel was clean and tidy. The food was good although a little pricey. The rooms were warm and clean with very comfortable beds and handy bathrooms. It is well situated near a cycle path - great views of the beach. Fabulous walking every evening. Good for gluten free.

Room tip: we were in the main block - I am not sure what the 'motel' rooms were like

We stayed here during our time in Greymouth visiting an unwell family member. The evening reception lady and the lady in the restaurant during breakfast were soo lovely and friendly!

While it’s an older hotel and it’s in the process of having renovations they didn’t impact on our stay at all. Our rooms were clean, tidy and warm. Would definitely stay here again!

From outside the hotel looked pretty low key and boring. What a pleasant surprise inside. Bright, modern, clean and very good staff. Bedrooms/suites are very nice with a good tea and coffee making facility, all of which good quality.
The restaurant was another pleasant surprise, first class food and great wine selection and excellent service.
Well located with a short flat walk to the ocean.
There is plenty of parking.
If you have mobility needs, request a ground floor room as there is no lift/elevator.
The weekend was wonderful and I would recommend The Ashley to anyone.

Our room had a double bed, single bed and a small sofa bed which we were pleasantly surprised by. The hotel is all single level, with doors to rooms leading off the carpark. This hotel is budget, but was adequate for an overnight stay. It is situated a long way from centre of Greymouth, so you will need a car if you wish to eat out or do some shopping (there is a restaurant in the hotel). The room had basic tea/coffee making facilities with a small fridge. There was also free wi-fi in the room.

Room tip: Choose a room towards the back of the hotel.
