Stayed for 2 nights in large studio. Very clean with all that we needed, kitchenette with microwave and great water pressure in shower.
We found the bed a little lumpy/soft (like sleeping on the couch) otherwise everything was fine.

Stayed for 2 nights in a large studio - it had a queen bed, 2 singles a lounge, kitchen with all the basics and a table and chair set.
Bathroom was very large - everything was clean in this unit.
Bed was comfortable.
Staff were friendly but kept knocking on the room each morning about 9am to see if we wanted anything....nice to be asked but not when you are tired fronm travelling and dont want to be woken at that time. Need do not disturb signs!!
The motel room was tired looking and needs updating.
I wouldn't stay here again in a hurry
Really really noisy from the road, trucks going through all the time.
Units are very tired & need a lot spent on them to get them anywhere up to speed.
This would be a last resort to stay at, only cos of the street noise
Owen was very helpful when speaking to him on the phone. He was able to book us in a room last minute in the busy holiday period. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Upon arrival the fans had been switched on and the milk stored in the fridge which was great on a hot summers evening. We relaxed the evening away in a huge bath with jets which was fabulous. Staff are extremely friendly and the room was reasonably priced. Will defintly be back to stay Happy New Years!

Would have stayed again only it was no vacancy. Excellent value and nice clean new motel. Reasonably quiet though it's on main road. Will stay again. You won't be disappointed.

Spend three nights here last week. When booking, was told (without asking) this motel was 4 star. Having recently had major foot, surgery shower and toilet aids were necessary, and these were certainly very good. The unit was tired and needed some TLC.. A good clean would have helped - especially on top of the microwave and I don't think the face on the bedside clock had ever been cleaned. In saying this, the supply of towels etc was excellent with plenty of soft fluffy towels and a very good shower. The one thing that made this place less than expected, was that although there was detergent and tea towels, there was no kitchen sink. The handbasin in the bathroom was simply that with no way dishes could even ben done in there. Although it was on the main road, it was very quiet.

Thanks for your review, glad to hear you had a good stay and that the room facilities were handy post surgery.
Our studio rooms don't have full kitchen facilities e.g. sinks, detergent, tea towels. Our cleaners take the dishes out of the rooms daily to clean them so we don't expect our guests to do the dishes in bathroom sinks.
However our 1 and 2 bedroom units have full kitchen facilities if you are after this on your next stay in Whangarei.
