Second time we've been and again the food and service was A+. The restaurant faces the beautiful sunsets over the Whangarei harbour.
For starters I had the Steak Tartare, it was absolutely lovely and I will go back to order it again. I must say the chef understands pickles! I need to pop down again just to buy a jar! The two other dinners ordered the pork bellies and were happy with their starters.
The mains serving sizes are generous, especially with the extra bowls of food such as dinner rolls, roasted potatoes to complement. I had the Beef Fillet Steak and was very happy again. The other dinners had the Duck, towards the end of their plates they were getting very full indeed.
We ordered two Deserts, the mousse and the malt loaf. Both were lovely, however I really enjoyed the mouse.
I would certainly take advantage of the hospitality, by this I mean, pair your wines to the meals :-) Try to get a table earlier in the evening so that you can appreciate the stunning sunset over the Whangarei harbour while having beautifully crafted food paired with great alcoholic beverages, served by lovely hosts... Trust me, you'll not regret celebrating life here in this way! :-)
