Fishermans basket. No mussels and not told. Uncooked skinny fries. Frozen faux calamari rings. One small tub tatare sauce. Lousy rude service.

Booking was made for a family group of 40, then ended up close to 60, but tables were reserved for our group, meals were large and well presented,
Staff were really nice and very accommodating with our extra dinner guests.
Quite a busy place, and we really enjoyed our night...

Popped in for an ale or two and had the classic 'fish and chips ' plate meal, good large size portion, well cooked and not greasy. Classic Kiwi pub grub A+

We came with our 12 and 10 years olds and had a great meal here. Despite it being a tavern (not pub) this was perfectly fine for out kids, although of course gambling is visible from where you eat, if that worries you.
The meals were great, staff and locals were super friendly. Good portions, good drinks, happy people.

We love going here to celebrate our anniversaries. The food is magnificent and there's plenty of choice. Prices are competitive and it is well worth it...we usually end up taking some of our dinner home for the next night as portions are generous. You certainly won't leave feeling hungry. John does a wonderful job cooking with his team. See you again in March!
