We dropped in while doing the Whanganui River canoe journey down to Whanganui and stayed in a Tipi. After a long day on the water there could not have happend anything better to us. Super friendly hosts, well equiped facilities, hot shower and relaxing atmosphere. Just awesome.

The hotel is located on the other side of the river if you are coming with a car and the only way to get there is to use a cable car over the river which provides a bit of an adventure before arriving to the beautiful place which offers different types of accommodation for the different travelers. The place itself is very remote and quiet and is ideal for a well deserved break. They have their own fruit trees and chickens running around. There is a unique shower in the jungle which was a once in a lifetime experience. Staff was extremely friendly and prepared delicious food. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family and I myself will be returning in the near future.

rare experience in terms of access to the accommodation as the only access is by flying fox. The flying fox takes 2 people and luggage. The chalets were rarely interesting .

The accommodation was warm and comfortable in a quiet peaceful bush location.
Really friendly accommodating hosts.

Room Tip: peaceful and rejuvenating place to stay

Flying Fox is a great accommodation stop. To get to it you put a couple of you and bags ithe the Flying fox to cross the Whanganui river. Getting great view s both ways. Once there the accommodation is dreamy.in an almost tropial garden with walnuts avocados and citrus it is very relaxing. Great friendly couple run it. WiFi available and some shop supplies to do some self catering also available

We stayed here as a large group of 11 whilst mountain biking the Mountain to Sea trail. It was a perfect stop over that added to our adventure. The cableway offers fantastic views whilst traversing over the river and is an awesome way to gain entry to the property I highly recommend this. The food provided by Jan and Kelly was wonderful. Thank you Flying Fox
