Stopped here for lunch on my way up the Peninsula. Noticed the huge tree in the domain and of course had to have photos of it before relaxing outside at the cafe with a coffee and a bite to eat. Lovely location, good food and friendly staff.

We'd parked up across the road at Waiomu Domain in our motorhome (somewhat early as not many spaces) and were admiring the huge tree with air roots when we struck up a conversation with a lovely local lady (? Annie). She was heading over to the cafe after a walk and, never one to resist nice food, we decided to pop across too. So glad we did!
We both opted for the pizza but with hindsight we should have shared as it was very, very filling. We did have to wait a while for it, but to be honest it was well worth the wait. The lovely staff gladly gave us a box to take away our leftovers. We spent a very pleasant hour or so putting the world to rights with our new acquaintance (who seemed to be a regular) and the staff were great, not rushing us at all even though we were there for some time.
Husband couldn't keep his eyes off the cakes (great use of the mozzie net btw!) and we popped back later for cakes .... equally yummy.
Shame we didn't have time the next morning to try their breakfast too!
Would recommend, whether just for coffee (try resisting those cakes!) or a meal.

We visited this cafe for coffee and a snack. They had plenty of gluten free options . . . something for everyone. Great coffee, lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Not only water for our dog, but also a sizeable snack. Lucy (our dog) is rather fussy, but she loved the "bone" they gave her. Magazines to read - even a crossword puzzle book! And the view . . . just across the road from the Waiomu Beach, Beautiful.
