Warm and generous hospitality from Pauline and Dennis, matched by the best views of the area from their home. A very comfortable room, private wing and helpful dinner recommendations made for an excellent first night on our road trip of North Island.

Extremely comfortable accomodation including a guests' sitting room with TV. Delicious cooked or continential breakfast- homemade muesli and heaps of frsh fruit salad. Nothing was too much trouble Pauline even offered to make sandwiches as we were going on a long walk ,and we were offered wine and liquers in the evening. Great recommendations on where to eat and the view over the Firth of Thames was superb.

We stayed with Pauline and Dennis for a week, four days in the main house and three days in the cottage. Initially we were disappointed that the cottage was booked for the first four days of our stay but actually this gave us a chance to get to know our wonderful hosts even better. They could not have done enough for us and went above and beyond on a regular basis. We were even invited to share New Years eve which happens to be their wedding anniversary with them.

The house is lovely with a fabulous view and the cottage even better. Pauline's breakfasts are the stuff of legends and Dennis provides many a laugh. Oh and lets not forget the best home baking that was shared with the guests on a daily basis. We will definitely return to stay with our new friends.

We've travelled extensively and this is definitely the best.

Room tip: For self catering and personal space the cottage is the best.

We stayed with Pauline and Dennis for two nights at new year (sorry for the delayed review- back to the UK and back to hectic normality!). I don't really know where to start with this review- the place, Pauline and Dennis' hospitality, the views, breakfast, bedroom we're all exceptional. We stayed here nearly 3 weeks into our holiday and after having some busy days it was lovely to experience some luxury and watch the world go by from the huge deck overlooking the town and sea. We had tea and cookies on arrival, and the next day when we got back from a long bike ride Pauline gave us two huge slices of her amazing almond and ginger cake. We then had a lovely evening relaxing on the deck drinking wine and watching the sun set with Pauline and Dennis and another guest.

Thank you for a wonderful stay- certainly a highlight of our holiday of a lifetime.

Emma and Craig

Tip- If you're thinking of booking here, don't book for 1 night- you will regret not staying longer!
