Sooo. I just went in for a takeaway coffee. Was very weak so went back politely asked for another. same problem. tasted like milk, not much more. so took back again, expecting a refund or stronger coffee. but i got soooo much more.. The passive aggressive book march past stating abruptly to her staff quote " JUST GIVE HIME A REFUND" unquote. Then then cashier decided to add her two cents and told me very rudely quote " go get your coffee somewhere else" unquote.. Lesson learnt?? DONT GO TO CAFE CUBA IF U WANT A STRONG COFFEE OR GOOD SERVICE

Lovely cafe food. Huge portions. Would recommend. Family friendly. Outdoor and indoor seating. We really enjoyed our lunch.

We brought food for our toddler, who refuses to eat anything else. The owner came to our table and said we couldn’t bring food in. We reasoned that our toddler is currently picky and refuses to eat anything else and that we’ve already ordered meals and drinks for 2 adults with 4 more people on the way. The owner said, “I don’t care” and proceeded to take our 2-year old son’s food saying, “You can get it back when you leave.” At this point, my wife stood up and offered they would leave with my son to eat on a bench outside. The owner appeared she didn’t understand what my wife was saying and aggressively kept our son’s food away repeating, “You can take it when you leave”. My wife repeated what she said, and the owner finally agreed to give back the food saying, “Fine, go”. Calmly, I talked to her saying she didn’t have to be rude about it. She could have talked to us properly rather than treat us like animals. She said, “I don’t care!” So I gave up and left after asking the cashier for a refund.

We were recommended this cafe for a qu8ck breakfast or brunch on our way through Palmerston North. The appearance of the cafe was quite funky, and we loved the Cuban vibe - we already love Havana coffee who supply this cafe.
The food catered for many options - my son was pleased with the vegetarian options and loved his toasted sandwich. I had a toasted sandwich as well and it was hot, very tasty, and nicely seasoned - the tomato relish was just right, but not overwhelming!

The staff were quick, alert and very friendly! They were happy to provide a box for some of their yummy cake and slices, which I took all the way back to Christchurch.
Very impressed and highly recommended!

We had excellent brunch and returned the next day. Everything was very good but it was very noisy. Best book a table at weekends.
