I make a point when I can to make positive reviews on my travels. I'm really struggling with this place. There's nothing terrible about it. I wouldn't be reviewing it at all but for one incident. My first day, my room was not serviced at all. I returned back after work around 5pm on the 2nd day (today) to find my room's door wide open, the lights on, the room had been serviced but there were no staff around at all. Rooms get serviced soon after 10am. That's why they make us check out. So, my room could have been open all day. No one was servicing rooms at or slightly before 5pm.
I informed reception. They said "sorry" and "I'll let the cleaners know". That's it. I've yet to go back and check if anything has been stolen. If not, it's certainly more good luck than good management.
The place smells musty and has worn carpet to the concrete base with torn curtains. This place is not 4 stars. It is not cheap. I'm usually not fussed about small things like worn carpet and torn curtains but it's not like I'm getting a word carpet discount. The smell is just sad.
And, I wouldn't be saying any of this privately or publicly if it wasn't for the door thing and the poor response to it.
Also, FYI, there are 2 Distinction Hotels in this town. Choose wisely.
