Clean Rooms, helpful staff but slow wifi and basic rooms. Good size. Rooms aren't serviced even for a 4 night stay, rubbish emptied but coffee etc not replenished, neither are towels and beds not made.

6 night stay for work trip. Clean and tidy but dated room. Same with bathroom. Provided body wash in dispensers appear to be watered down maybe. Laundry access hours little bit hard when out of motel grounds all day.

I had stayed here a few years ago and had a great experience. I had to be in Palmerston North for an event, so chose to stay here again. Stayed for three nights. The dated room was never serviced during this time, the rubbish was never emptied. The walls are so thin I could hear someone snoring in the room next door at night. The bed was OK. The soap in the dispensers appeared to be watered down as was the dish washing liquid. There is a small benchtop oven which you need to plug into the wall via an extension cord if you want to use - very dangerous and I'd suspect illegal. Outside there are signs of neglect with moss growing all over the roof and on the pavement. The gardens are full of weeds - it just presents as being neglected. It is also right on a very busy road so is noisy. The owners are going to have to lift their game if they want to survive in this area as there are heaps of alternative options nearby.

We needed somewhere that accepted dogs, as one of our dogs had surgery at a specialist vet in Palmerston North the following morning and we live over 2hrs drive away. We found the Pavilion and decided to book because it accepted dogs. We were really impressed. You no doubt have experienced the disparity in motel quality and you never really know what you are getting until you put the key in the door, however no such concerns at the Pavilion.
The check-in process was easy, as the Reception desk was unmanned when we arrived there was a 24hr automated check-in facility, very quick and easy to use. The room was very clean, well appointed with a dining table and chairs, nice and comfy leather sofa, good size bed and a kitchenette. The bathroom was spotless and shampoo, shower gel and hand soap were provided in pump bottles attached to the wall. It was good to see the motel was not using small individual bottles (a serious waste of plastic).
The location is great, with a lovely park on your doorstep and there's a BP just next door if you want to nip over and grab some snacks whilst relaxing and watching the in room Sky TV.
In summary, for a motel we were really impressed. If you are looking for a well appointed, clean and homely stay then do not hesitate to consider the Pavilion.
Happy travels!

The motel is convenient to Palmerston North CBD and the Victoria gardens. We checked in and staff were pleasant & informative. The room we were assigned only had a double bed where we had booked a 1 bedroom apartment with one bed & one sofa bed. The receptionist then moved us to a room that had 2 single beds & 1 double bed. Room sizes are OK and were clean on check-in. The hotel is on the main road into Palmerston North so you can expect traffic noise.

Morning after our first night's stay I pulled up the sheets on the 2 beds, and that is how they were when we got back that night - beds not made by housekeeping staff. Next morning I decided not to pull up the sheets, but housekeeping pulled them up, but the beds were not tucked in or covers put on. The waste bin was not emptied and the tea/coffee supplies were not replenished. When I asked at the office why, I was told that on the second day of a stay tea/coffee is not replenished - I have never had this experience in hotels/motels before, so I asked for some sachets otherwise we had nothing to drink.

The walls are not well insulated as you can hear people talking in the next room. In our case this started at 5:30 each morning when they started making their breakfast. To the hotel's credit there are signs in the rooms asking guests to be mindful of others about noise levels.
