We eat here regularly when in Shepparton as it's the best restaurant in the town, and this time was with a group for Saturday lunch. Plus points are the excellent value lunch menu (although I bet not much call for $40 steaks in Shepp at lunchtime), some great dishes and a wonderfully interesting selection of wines by the glass for only $10 or $11.
This time I thought my mushroom risotto, although containing plenty of fresh and porcini mushrooms, tasted rather herb-y and lacked the rich, deep mushroom flavour expected. A couple of people in our group found the pappardelle ragu a bit watery and light-on with the ragu. The charcuterie plate remains excellent value and very tasty.
