We arrived on the Saturday night before Valentine's hoping to get a table. The restaurant was PACKED! Barely waited any time and we were seated right away. The table was so tiny, but the service made up for it. The Pink Caprioska cocktail was so refreshing and I am told that the martini that we also ordered was " the best tasted in a long time". The wine list is AMAZING!! It is huge and such a massive variety and the somillier is so attentive without being in the way. Try the aranchini starter. They are so creamy. We had the boneless duck share plate. The cherry reduction underneath is incredible. The duck is fantastic. So moist with perfect skin!! We couldn't finish it, there was so much. The staff are great as well. Rachel gets a special mention. She did such a good job and is very attentive. We will definatley be coming back here.

We dined at this one week old new restaurant at The Strand, 80 Marine Pde,Coolangatta last night. We were impressed with the extensity of the menu - Duck Croquettes with relish were absolutely delicious, scallops which were quite expensive but perfectly seared in a champagne sauce, however our Pizza was not crisp, toppings sparse but price was reasonable. The Pappardelle was a strange pairing with Carbonara sauce but it was amazing & full flavoured. Wine list is extensive but small wine glasses disappointing. The service was overly attentive but probably because the restaurant is new.

This modern Italian restaurant is situated on the seaport in the Strand shopping Centre.
We have been really impressed with the excellent customer service and amazing food. We were with 5 people and three different dishes but all of them were outstanding. The setting is great, the staff are really friendly and helpful and the place just has a great vibe about it. The meals are really good value and it is one of the only places where we have actually wanted to tip. For really good food you have to pay a little more. Do not look at the review that says overpriced. This food has its value and it is delicious and yes different price than fish and chips. It is a great value to Coolangatta some classy we will come back.

I read the rave revues of this restaurant with disbelief.

The venue is tired, zero atmosphere, with seating that is either too low or too high when sitting at the internal tables.

Although our waitress at our lunchtime sitting was very attentive (it was quiet), the food was abominable.

The steak was presented as if broiled - it was grey in colour, tough and tasteless. The meatballs were like golf balls, the sauce salty and dominating. The pasta was like rubber, lacking flavour, and the gnocchi was like something you'd get from a fast food joint.

Actually, a meal from a fast food joint would have been preferable. To top it off, this "top class" restaurant didn't take American Express.

We went to this restaurant because we had heard the food was good, bottom line - it isn't.

If you want a fine dining experience, walk down the street to Bellakai. You won't be disappointed in the food there.
