“Relaxing peaceful retreat in the Hunter Valley even with kids”
Reviewed 4 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

As a city dweller, you forget how peaceful the country can be. And Block 8 is no exception - you can lie in the hammock, with the only sounds of birds and the breeze for company. It's also perfect for kids so you can enjoy the peace and quiet. There's loads of space for them to run around and explore. They might even chase after the kangaroos that roam on the property. They can also feed the pigs and chickens plus collect their own eggs for breakfast. For the cooking parents, if you can't get to the local restaurants, then collect fresh vegies from the garden (the tomatoes really do taste different to the supermarket ones!) and cook in the very well equipped kitchen. Even better, if you're struggling for inspiration, then just grab a cook book from the huge collection on offer in the living room. The beds are comfy, there is plenty of room for large groups and 2 bathrooms makes life easier. However the highlight is just sitting on the verandah with a glass of wine and enjoying the view, especially at dusk.
