Comfortable room despite needing minor repairs but the staff were incredible - could not do enough for us. Only down side was the early dinner menu for $40 per head with complimentary house wine which we enjoyed but when we asked if there was a dessert menu was told it would upgrade us to the normal menu at $62 per head to which we happily agreed. Then when the bill arrived we had been charged $18 for the wines - when we questioned this we were told that there was no complimentary wine on a he normal menu. Eventually the wines were reinstated as complimentary but not a good experience. Despite this the food was great and we had a wonderful weekend celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary.

Thank you for you lovely review about our food and staff. We are so glad you enjoyed spending your 40th Wedding anniversary with us.
I am sorry about the confusion with the bill. I have passed this onto our Food and Beverage Manager to follow up with his staff and to prevent this in the future.
Once again thank you and we hope to see you back again at the Mercure.

The staff at the Mecure are absolutely lovely, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway staying at the Mecure. Although we were told that the hotel was at full capacity the only time we felt as though it was a little over crowded was at breakfast, the staff handled this really well though, I would definitely stay again.

After reading the reviews I thought this was going to be a lovely stay, unfortunately I was wrong. There are some pros - great location, wonderful staff and it is very clean. However, the towels were really scratchy (like terribly so), the toilet paper was AWFUL (granted it might be recycled - but you can definitely get better quality recycled toilet paper), the curtains in the room didn't close properly which meant little privacy and lots of light in the mornings, the breakfast was delicious but too busy for staff to keep up with (our last morning we had to ask FOUR times for water). Perhaps this is better suited to families than couples (there were definitely a lot of families here). The staff, again, we were lovely and accomodating but perhaps not able to keep up with a fully booked hotel. To be honest though, the quality of the hotel is not the 4.5 stars it says it is, and probably not the $350 (approx) a night either. Might be worth it if you got a better deal, are a member of the Accor group or have lots of kids. Sorry - it just wasn't for us

Hello,
We are sorry your stay was not what you expected.
Our hotel and all other hotels in the area are very busy this time of year with it being School holidays and having the winter snow gardens next door we are full of Families and lots of kids. We would suggest staying more the end of July or August if looking for a quiet and calming winter escape in the Hunter Valley.
We hope we can better serve you in the future.

We dined at the mercure resort hunter valley at elements restaurant on sunday night, and we were very impressed by the quality and presentation of the 3 course dinner that was presented to us. We were 4 people and each meal, entrée, main and desert , were all delicious and enjoyable. thank you to your chef, Paul, for making it a wonderful night for all of us.

This was our second stay at the hotel. The reception staff were very friendly but we did not have a good experience with the dining room. Despite being told we could book dinner for 8,00pm, when we came to make the booking the restaurant supervisor admitted she had told us a lie and they were actually over booked and could not take our booking. Having dined there previously and had a good experience, this young lady is not doing the hotel a favour. It was very disappointing and we feel the hotel could have done more to ensure we could have dined from the restaurant menu at least even if we were not able to eat in the dining room. The library or bar would have been perfectly acceptable to us but that option was not offered to us.
