This is an old hotel about 3-4 mins walk from the main street of Broken Hill. It is a stylish old 2-storey building that has been lovingly restored. We stayed here six nights. The room was large with a comfortable bed, desk, large chair, drawers, wardrobe, fridge and modern ensuite. There was a bit if street noise when the local pubs closed but the windows are double-glazed so shutting these and turning on the air conditioner can solve that problem if it annoys. There are plenty of communal areas, including a large verandah, and lounge room, pool room and a lovely outdoor area near the swimming pool plus a small carpark. Breakfast is self-prepared from ingredients left in the kitchen and includes cereals, bread and eggs and bacon. It was a bit annoying when one set of guests left their dirty pans for others to clean but other than that the breakfast system worked well. No other meals are provided in house but there are quite a few options nearby. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating. When we had to change rooms part way through, they were very helpful and we were able to have a late check out on the last day. The bathroom had a shower (no bath) and toilet. There was OK hanging space to dry underwear but it would be a bit more difficult if you had to wash a few outer clothes. Great location for our stay.
