Said I'd be back, didn't I ? Sadly the Priscilla room was booked out on our 2 night stay but we were next door with an ensuite balcony room which are the pick. We did get to have a quick look in Priscilla room when having a drink on the balcony overlooking Argent St with the occupant and it is over the top, real quirky & kinky ! The murals are going to need a touch up sooner then later but our room was great with good sleep quality both nights. Can recommend the Palace highly for a good price & good stay.

Room tip: The Verandah Level is the Pick !

Went as an excursion from The Indian Pacific train. We were met with drinks and canapes as we settled down to watch a very entertaining show based on Priscilla, Queen of the Dessert. The 2 stars interacted with the audience in a lighthearted way and stayed after the show for plenty of photo op's. The hotel has an interesting display of murals and has props from the film in their foyer. Great place for a drink or a party.

We pulled up outside the hotel just before 12.00 noon thinking it would have been opened at 10.00am but it was still closed. We were going to go for lunch and then come back but I thought I would grab a quick photo through the front window, which I did. As we were walking back to the car a lovely young lady came out and invited us in to take more photos and she gave us full run of the establishment. Of course we took advantage because when you enter the hotel it is difficult to know where to look first. Every inch of wall and ceiling space has a mural on it depicting Broken Hill, Priscilla or other memorable moments or movies in Broken Hill, mind boggling really. We wandered upstairs and we were impressed with the beauty of the architecture of the building itself and the murals really suit the building, we wandered out onto the balcony and overlooked Argent Street and the slag heap at the back of the town. We wandered for awhile and then went downstairs to the bar and ordered a beer of which there is a good selection and sat at the front window and watched the activity on Argent Street as we enjoyed our drinks. The staff were friendly and glad to answer our questions about the hotel and went out of their way to oblige us.

We visited for a night time meal in an old Hotel needing some repairs inside. When you walk in the front door past the bar you will see a film type world with murals on the walls and ceilings. We had a look upstairs and was surprised at the length of corridors leading to the hotels accommodation. We took photos and on the way out the manager invited us to a tour upstairs to view Priscilla's accommodation room used in the film. Wow wow wow. The three main actors actually slept in the room as well as acted in the room for the film. This upstairs room is a must see after having a meal at the Palace Hotel. Ask the manager to take you upstairs for a look. You must take photos. We will visit again.
