Every course was incredible, from the entree, to the main to the dessert. We couldn't decide between the desserts so ordered one of each of the three desserts on the menu and shared them between the two of us.The wine list was impressive and reasonably priced. It was lovely to be able to have a conversation and to be able to hear the other person. The service was exceptional as was the meal. A hidden gem in Albury. A great dining experience.

Small and unpretentious restaurant serving 5 star food. This restaurant could compete with the best 5 star restaurants in Melbourne. Wonderful food, great service and well thought out wine list

We were traveling from Melbourne to Sydney and stopped in Albury to visit the Albury Gallery and was recommended Bistro Selle by the Director. The Dodd was excellent with very good wine pairing the owner insisted on giving us. We started the meal with one dozen freshly shucked oysters followed by a fish dish described as fish, leek, cabbage and sprouts for me and a most amazing pasta dish, nduja, mascarpone, parsley and lemon for my husband. We hadn’t planned to have dessert but couldn’t resist and settled on licorice parfait with sour cream, passionfruit snd white chocolate. Every morals of good was faultless and would be enjoyed in any major city. So glad if the recommendation. Thanks Matt for making it an even more enjoyable night with your lovely manger and great staff.

Came in for a casual drink and dinner, was completely blown away with the service. The food was fantastic and the owneratt came out with a glass of wine for every course to pair with our food.
Was never one for wine or food pairing and now it is a staple.
Loved it.
Will be back.

The ambiance
This restaurant is located on the ground floor near the city center.
From the outside, it is unpretentious and inconspicuous. Even though it has a street front, the entrance is via the back of a corridor.
Inside the restaurant, the décor is minimalistic, with bare walls, carpet-tiled floor, plain light fittings, timber tables and timber chairs which three out of our party of eight found uncomfortable. There was no music, colour, wall decoration, or mood-lighting, but it has cloth napkins!
The menu
The menu is equally minimalistic as the décor, with only three items to choose from in entrée, main and dessert. Our diners found the mains good (pork belly and veal) to very good (fish). We decided to just order one of each entrée and dessert to share between us. As it turned out, the entrée and desserts were exceptionally good and above expectation.
The service
the owner, Matthew, is a one-man band. He is super affable, obliging, energetic and efficient (reminds me of Basil in Fawlty Tower, in a good way!) He was able to take our orders without writing anything down and delivered the orders correctly despite our swapping places !
The verdict
The food was good, the entrée, dessert, and service were excellent. Unfortunately, the dining experience is dampened by the minimalist ambiance and uncomfortable furnishing.
I suggest they take a leaf from 2640 Restaurant -Bar.
