We arrived at Steeples during a heavy storm beginning November, so it was only the day after that we could enjoy this great location (and Bruce’s man shack in the garden).
Very close to the beach & to the seals colony, this is a very nice place to stay.
Bruce advised us about the local activities & restaurant and really made us feel at home.

We spent one night in the cottage which is set in a beautiful garden/patio and faces the water. The cottage has a well-appointed kitchen, spacious/modern bathroom and nice sitting area. You can relax on the patio close to the cottage or on the edge of the garden, overlooking the ocean..gorgeous. The unit has a washer and drying racks.. very convenient. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We enjoyed our two night stay here immensely. The lovely owners could have not done enough. No detail left untouched - outstanding facilities incl laundry.Extremely spacious cottage with great vista over beautiful gardens and onto Tasman Sea.We were close to Cape Foulwind walkway - wonderful coastal walk dramatic in places on the way to seal colony home to many pups.Best view of sea colony is in the morning when sun is behind you.Recommend Bay House for dinner also great setting

The cottage is very large, with all the conveniences of home, including a laundry and a huge kitchen. It is only 10 minutes or so to Westport, but very close to the lighthouse and seal colony at Cape Foulwind. Also the pub is just down the road. A continental breakfast is supplied, but due to my gluten intolerance we were also given eggs. In addition our lovely hosts supplied us with tomatoes and freshly caught mussels.
It was very pleasant sitting outside in the evenings, looking at the view across the gardens over the sea.

Room Tip: Book the cottage if you can - spacious and a wonderful view

Good value, clean, plenty of space. A beautiful setting with a great view. Handy to Westport, Denniston, Punakaiki and all the beautiful West Coast. The hosts are friendly and have very useful local knowledge.
