The team here were very accommodating. We originally booked for 2 nights but cancelled our 2nd night due to our scheduled tour being cancelled. This wasn't an issue and they gladly gave us our one night refund back.
The room was tidy and clean. Views were great to the hill with snow
A good location one street off the lake. The rooms are reasonably spacious and well decorated. The staff are very friendly and efficient, offering good advice on the local attractions, nothing is too hard for them. Not complicated but a very comfortable place to stay.
Our room at the Anchorage was small but met all our needs. The kitchen seemed sufficient to putting together meals (but we enjoyed dinners out since Te Anau has lots of good restaurants). The bed was comfortable. A big drawback was that the shower water temperature was entirely unreliable - without any reason we could determine (we didn't run the water, etc.). While the motel doesn't have a lake view, it is conveniently located to access the lake, shops, and restaurants.
Don’t know what the negative reviews are about. Family of 5 in this two bedroom motel room, which was clean and neat. Hot showers with lovely heated towel rails, fantastic toiletries. Kitchenette was very well equipped and pans/pots and cutlery in very good and useable condition. Even provided ground coffee for French press, I love that! Hot chocolate sachets and lots of tea.
Bedrooms are comfortable and clean. Black our curtains very much appreciated in long summer days. Just all very nicely set up for a stay with children — I like the space and all. Will 100% recommend and stay again if we ever visit Te Anau again.
Well maintained property with comfy beds, ample storage and a good range of kitchen equipment. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a studio with a wood fired hot tub in our yard which the staff had prepared for us so ready to plunge into whenever we wanted and wood to reheat it the following day.
