Our family of 4 including a 4 Yr old and 7 year old had a wonderful stay at Aden Motel. The team were friendly and helpful, unit was tidy and clean and nicely refurbished. Play equipment for the kids was an awesome bonus to have on site. We would definately return.More

Great little traditional kiwi motel. Very comfortable bed, clean and full facilities an easy walk to town. The owners were friendly and offered us a choice of rooms - both of which were nice.
Would reccomend as this motel is better than many that cost a lot more.

Choice of rooms doesn't always happen but its great if we do get the chance to do this as each of our rooms has it own personality with our Fiordland/NZ feel.
Walking to town is about 10 mins or 1km walk into the heart of town with Supermarket, Restaurants, shops etc
Value for money is due to the town deciding to bring people here to stay and hopefully stay longer was to reduce room rates and it worked but its tough when we as Motel owner pay more in a neighbouring town for accommodation that what we are charging our guests for the same type of rooms.

Such a quiet but convenient motel. The lake walk access is across the road, a few seconds and you are at the lake, turn left for DOC and the bird sanctuary (approx 10 min walk) or right to get to the town centre. Clean, comfortable room with a lovely bed, heat pump, kitchen facilities-everything you could need. Free wifi. Outside areas to enjoy the peace, bbq,birdlife and a wee garden to pick some herbs or vege for your dinner. Trampoline and swing for the children.
The staff were lovely, going out of their way to make my trip comfortable and easy.
Obvious attempts to be as sustainable as possible,awesome to see.
100% reccomend this motel, can't wait to go back.
Well thank you for an outstanding review that covers so much about the Motel and what it offers including the playground, BBQ area and our lovely gardens that bring in the bird life you get to sit and listen too because it is so quiet and peaceful to stay.
Heat pumps / AirCon is not yet available in all our apartments but we are working on it as a more economical way to heat and cool the rooms but we will keep moving forward with them as budget allows same for the room decorating too is always ongoing.
If you leave here with great memories of you stay that is all we ask

I spent five nights at the Aden, using it as a base to explore the area.
The hotel is well located; reasonably priced; with spacious, comfortable, and impeccably decorated rooms. Units have been refurbished to a very high and tasteful standard.
All the services and amenities were in good order and worked well - internet, laundry, heating and so on.
The kitchens and bathrooms are modern, and are thoughtfully provided with quality appliances, cooking and serving needs, linens, towels, and toiletries.
Irene and David are knowledgeable about the area, consistently helpful, and completely service orientated.
I heartily recommend the Aden if you plan to be in Te Anau!
Just seeing guest stay longer and enjoy our piece of paradise we have here in Te Anau and really get to know the place as most people only use it as a stop over point for Milford Sound and never get to see Te Anau at all.
We also got to know you as a person it was great to have conversations about different topics too.
Thanks for the mention of our motel rooms we do try our very best but also listen to our guests to see if we are able to make any improvement to the motel but we are all the time updating and decorating the rooms.
We hope at some stage you might just return for another visit

Such a gem of a find, spotlessly clean, super comfortable, the bed was so cozy and even had an electric blanket. The decor is cute kiwiana. Perfectly appointed in every way, but the best thing is the amazing Irene who owns it, so incredibly helpful when our car broke down and we needed to leave it with her to be repaired while headed off to Doubtful Sound. Can’t rate this place more highly A+++
Great reading first thing in the morning makes the day of cleaning all worth while. Yes our Kiwiana theme to our rooms seems to be going down really well even with New Zealanders they like our new styling. We are only too happy to help our guests in any way possible if we are able too including car repairs, drop off and pick ups to Kepler Track its just our Southern Hospitality down here.
We are really pleased you enjoyed Doubtful Sound overnight and were able to carry on with you holiday once you returned to pick up your car.
we liked the Aden Motel as it was affordable, clean and tidy. The best thing for me was that it supports the planet by using Forest and Bird hand soaps, shampoos and body care dispensers in the bathroom. Aden motel also uses compostable rubbish bags, recycle bins and less waste. There is a good outdoor space for the kids and they accept pets - yah!
The manager Irene was most accommodating when we had to change our dates and she also posted some clothing that we left behind to us - at no charge!

Thanks for your wonderful stay with you and your family. We have always tried to be as kind to the enviroment as possible but now we have to use sanitizers its not quite how I would like it but its keeping everyone safe both for our guests and our staff.
Molly the dog is a favorite among many of the visitors and she is always so nice to other fur babies that come to stay as she thinks she is queen of the motel.
