The over night cruise was amazing. Head out across lake Manapouri then a bus over the Wilmott pass to Doubtful where you get on the final boat. Lovely, dramatic and beautiful journey. We even saw a Shammy before we got to the Fjords which got everyone in the mood.

Kayaking on the lake, watching Dolphins, seals and Albatross in their natural environment. Incredible.

The scenery speaks for itself but in terms of the boat and 'real journeys' they too were superb. The staff were courteous, friendly and professional. The food was excellent and endless. Perfect balance of entertainment and time to chill and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Thoroughly recommend visiting a place not visited by many.

What a great trip with some spectacular scenery. First a trip across Lake Manapori which was breathtaking with the mountain landscape and a special rainbow crossing the snow capped mountains. Then a coach trip over the Wilmott Pass with more great views and a couple of photo stops. Then our cruise through Doubtful Sound, the waterfalls were not as accessible as the Milford Sound ones but jus amazing scenery. It is hard to choose one over the other and would recommend doing both sounds.

The New Zealand Sounds are magnificent and not to be missed. There is little to choose between the two most famous Sounds Milford and Doubtful although on balance I preferred Milford Sound.

The best over night boat trip I have ever taken. The beautiful surroundings, the people, food and of course the lovely boat . The coach driver who took us over was great and his knowledge and passion for the area showed. The crew on board all had a lovely smile and very welcoming . We had four seasons in one afternoon but been British it didn't matter my husband still kayak in the rain and the botanist had such great knowledge on all the plant and wild life it really made the trip. The food was amazing and I don't know how the chef managed in the small galley. It's not cheap but it worth every penny.

We booked an overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound with Real Journeys.
Our trip began the day before, when we stayed in Manapouri.
After breakfast the next morning we went down to the lake & got the boat across to the coach waiting to take us to meet the boat.
The coach trip was very interesting, the coach driver was very informative about the local flora & fauna.
At the top of Wilmot pass, we stopped to take photos of the views down to Doubtful Sound.
Absolutely breathtaking!!
We were greeted onboard by the friendly staff. Given a briefing about what form the next 24 hrs would take. Then off to put our bags in the cabins.
We were blessed with fabulous weather & spent most of the time up on the top deck.
The sheer majesty of the area was breathtakingly beautiful & words really don't do it just.
I don't want to spoil the trip for people wanting to do it by giving too much detail. Suffice to say, if you want a trip on the fiords whilst in New Zealand, this is the one to do.
You will not be disappointed!!
