We went on the Fiordland overnight cruise. This was my favourite part of our month long New Zealand tour. Everyone we met, from the coach driver to the boat staff were amazing, friendly and helpful.
The accommodation was lovely, clean and surprisingly spacious. The food was equivalent to a top restaurant. The staff were well informed and happy to answer questions.
A lasting memory is standing in complete silence looking at the scenery, a moment to savour. We were very lucky with the weather too.

Doubtful Sound is practically untouched by humans and preserved by only letting a few small boats in. To get there you have to board a boat for about an hour, take a bus ride over stunningly beautiful pass to board your boat for tour. It is so well worth it.

Inspiring and a feast for the eyes. A road, boat, road and then another boat journey through some pristine wilderness areas.

We took the Real Journeys overnight cruise to Doubtful Sound and it was one of the highlights of our New Zealand trip! it rained most of the time - made for amazing waterfalls everywhere you looked. The guest rooms were comfortable and clean, and the naturalist on board (Carol I think) made this trip an awesome experience. She really loves this area and its evident in her knowledge and passion in sharing it with all on board.

even in the cold month of april, this is worthwhile. Had "a typical fjordlands day with lots of temporary waterfalls", meaning that it rained a lot. Definitely worth the time and money.
