Went there for dinner on a recent stay in Queenstown. Some of the best Japanese food we have ever had. We had the Sashimi, beef skewers, Gyoza, seared beef and the Japanese pancake with prawns. All were excellent. Nice ambience and lovely staff. Best meal we had in Queenstown. Well priced as well.

Awesome little spot with great sharing food, a great range of dishes we loved it and will be returning soon.

My wife and I loved our meal at Tanoshi Teppan - highly recommend it for anyone who loves good food, hates being surrounded by tourists, and is willing to spend a little bit more for this experience.

The food was delicious and a welcomed alternative to what else Queenstown offers. We ordered the Okonomiyaki, the sashimi sampler, the seared salmon, and the udon with pork. Every dish was well executed and worth trying (... though this ended up being too much food for the two of us). The sake menu was also fantastic - we shared a bottle of the Nigori.

Highly recommend ignoring the many recommendations you will get to go to Fergberger and checking this place out instead

We had a lovely Japanese meal at Tanoshi with tasty fresh food such as prawn skewers, scallops with wasabi and seared rib-eye. The Udon noodles and vegetable tempura and seaweed salad were also great. They had a range of drinks available if you aren't a sake drinker. The service was quick, really friendly and the service of food was fast.

Stopped in this small clean lovely Japanese restaurant and had delicious spicy pork ramen, perfect tempura, lovely soup and very nice service Recommend !
