This place got recommended to us as a really authentic japanese restaurant.
First of all the music was quiet horrible.
Then i asked for gluten free options and there were only quiet a few wich is totally ok. So i asked for a small bottle of sake that is more on the dry side...
A few moments later the waitress brought us soy sauce instead of sake and i couldnt believe it. Then i was asking what was supposed to be in the sake bottle and the manager gave me a really bad attitude asking me what i ordered...I said i ordered sake and he said “so what do you expect is in the bottle”? I told him that its not sake and he didnt believe me...
We left and laughed after he realized it was soy sauce and definitely not sake we got served. What a joke ;-)

Hi Nicolas,

As you can see by our other reviews most guests rave about our amazing staff and their friendly service. I'm so sorry your expectations weren't met. This seems completely unusual and out of character and I'm sure must have been a communication error.

Went for dinner with the missus for her birthday.

We we're greeted at the door and seated in a booth (high backs, plenty of privacy) and started with a Japanese beer and local cider.

Our host introduced himself (can't remember his name but he was from Osaka, so we had to try the Okonomiyaki!) and we ordered some Japanese pancakes and salmon aburi. The salmon melts in your mouth and is drizzled with the most amazing sauce, pancakes were rich, saucy and full of flavour.

Next was prawn skewers and grilled scallops, probably the best scallops I've ever eaten and the miso dressing on the salad was a nice touch.

Our friendly host then presented a few bottles of Sake to try as I'd explained we weren't too familiar with it. We tried the different styles and chose a chilled dry one on his suggestion as it was a stinking hot night.

We finished on the gyu tataki (seared rare ribeye, again, melts in your mouth) and some edamame while we finished our drinks.

The food came out staggered which allowed us to truly appreciate the experience.

The bill was shockingly cheaper than expected and we left feeling completely satisfied, full but not bloated & clean - as you'd expect after a fantastic Japanese dining experience.

Highly recommend to anyone wanting an intimate, impressive experience that won't break the bank.

Thanks guys!

We came here for lunch recently. We were greeted by a very welcoming host who was very helpful with selecting the right sake.
The drinks list is surprising for such a little place from sake, plum wine, whiskey, beer, cider and a good selection of wine too.
The food is typical of what we’ve learnt to expect from Japanese restaurants, economical hearty meals. The portions were adequate and left you content not over filled.
The Ramen and pork bowl set were wonderfully flavored.
I loved our lunch here, affordable but tasty.
