Anyone travelling with a 2 year old will understand the need to find the right restaurant. As I am such a foodie I wanted to enjoy good food and service in the right atmosphere for my family. As we walked past the window of the Public Kitchen & Bar we saw there was live music which was a chap singing, which made us start looking for a free table, then the waitress Lucy gave us a beautiful big smile and beckoned us in. She was at the door before us, whisking our push chair away and showing us to our table, she then made sure all our needs were taken care of! With a glass of water in hand and a chat with our little daughter, Lucy talked us through the menu. The atmosphere inside is warm, cosy and friendly. After a lovely Aperol Spritz cocktail to start our food arrived, the chickpea & kumara fritters and confit duck pancakes were a favourite of mine and my husband is still talking about the Venison Osso Bucco, simply delicious. Two other staff members waited on the table, a young man and a young Northern Irish waitress, both very polite and competent. We would highly recommend Public Kitchen & Bar as amazing service, delicious food, great atmosphere, nice views of the lake and the drinks are brilliant!
