Four of us went and all had fantastic starters and mains. Personally had scallops then snapper - both excellent. Service was good too. I know the name is a give away that it is a restaurant with no windows but it was abit dark with the dark wood walls and dark furnishings - this is my personal choice though and doesn’t impact my review of five stars.

Small trendy restaurant, necessary to book. Good unusual food, reasonably good choice, not much choice for vegetarians. Food very tasty and good wine menu.

We wnjoyed our meal, I complained lightly at the end of the dinner that the fish was overcooked and immdiately was offered a compensation and a profusion of excuses, very nice management.

Superb food with matching wines and excellent service. We both had the Taste of the South Menu, which is great as you have 2 options for most of the courses to choose from, which meant we could share and try loads of the different dishes. My favourite course was the abalone/paua dish, it had a garlic cream mousse with it served in a shell which was just delicious. All the food was great, and the staff ensured they explained what each dish was and also explained the wines and the matchings. Must book, as there are not loads of tables and it is intimate and small.

The food was outstanding as was the service. Quiet and only about 8 tables. Romantic. Good wine list. we all had different main courses and shared, which made the meal that much more enjoyable
