Hands-down, the best place to view Queenstown and its gorgeous environs, with a fun gondola ride and delicious dinner to boot. What a combo! We recommend that you pay extra for a window table at dinner; you won't regret it. The buffet's offerings are extensive. Even the pickiest of eaters should find plenty from which to choose. We particularly enjoyed the salads/cold cuts, seafood -- wonderful NZ green-lip mussels and salmon, and cheeses. Didn't care for the overdone lamb; my husband liked the beef. There are two seatings for the dinner buffet; we opted for the first so we could look around during the daytime/at sunset. Don't wait until the last minute to take the gondola up for dinner. Allow some time to walk around a bit. (We were there in the "shoulder season" so we had no wait for a gondola car, but we were told there can be a waiting line during "high season".) Enjoy the panoramic views from the outside decks. Or, check out the view and watch the gondola cars zip by while relaxing in the cocktail lounge or entrance sitting area. A wonderful experience; a very good value.

Couldn't have imagined a more beautiful dining experience for our first night in Queenstown. The views. The food. The service. There is nothing not to love with options for any food preferences from salads, soups and vegetarian to red meat to seafood and the most incredible desserts. There was not a single thing we tried that wasn't delicious. And that view just topped it off.

We timed our booking so we would be up there just before the sunset and it was simply beautiful.

It is a bit overpriced for the short gondola ride. The view is nice but bar prices are high.
You have to fight for space to sit. Did not do the dinner buffet but many people opted for this.

Pricey food for what it is, but very worth it for the gorgeous location and beautiful views from this bar. I really enjoyed their white sangria and a house-made soup at the bar (soup came with lots of bread, and was a decent value for the money). This place is very popular and it can be hard to get a seat at the bar, but with some patience and waiting we managed to get good seats! Great place to grab a beer and relax after the Ben Lomond hike but before taking the gondola back down. Though we were certainly a bit underdressed for the bar in our hiking gear, I got the sense that they see a lot of hikers come through the bar as we did and no one seemed too alarmed by our attire!

We dined at lunch and were very impressed with our experience right from the time we were greeted at the front door. Shown to our table with a stunning view overlooking the city and lake by the very attentive staff who helped make this so pleasurable. There are so many options to choose from that anybody who cannot find something to their taste would not he happy anywhere. One of the the highlights was the Pork Belly which just melts in your mouth as well as the vast array of side dishes and salads then the stunning dessert bar to finish it off. The Dinner menu has some extra dishes to choose from but the Lunch menu in my opinion is one of the best value meals we ate in Queenstown. For location, atmosphere, food and staff it us very hard to beat. As we included the meal in our package deal for our Skyline visit it really is no more expensive and in some cases better value than other restaurants in the city.
