We had a good dinner there but were put off by the upcharge "due to more demand in high season". Lamb was quite good, but undercooked somewhat. We felt it was expensive for what we got. Service was very good.

Booked well ahead but restaurant quite quiet which the restaurant said was unusual. Lovely pork belly starter and lamb main. Very tasty. Waitress was really nice and welcoming.

If you are looking at Roaring Megs as a dining option it may be because you want an alternative to the super busy Ferg down the street, or becuase you heard they have consistently well prepared classic cuisine in the French style.

Roaring Megs has won awards for their beef and lamb dishes. The dining room is a bit dated but the service and the ambience make it seem like the institution that it is.

Our whole family had various lamb and beef preps, all of which were amazing. They do have a wine named after the restaurant that is made by a nearby winery.

The portion are just right for the classic cuisine and if you have standard three course selection, you will be full.

Loved the overall experience. Everyone should try it at least once.

Arrived to Queenstown you will be attacked by a big number of restaurants. Not easy to choose. Majority are pretty fine. There are few special things about Roaring Megs. It’s history, divine service and .... lamb, lamb, lamb... so good and so surprising. My favorite... confit of lamb. Heaven. Not excessive price for such quality. in my opinion close to a Michelin star. Enjoy...
