We were a small group. We got off to a slightly rocky start. The music was very loud apparently the owner likes it like this. But finally our waitress turned it down so we could talk to one another. The menu seems a little overwhelming at first. But we had an exceptional waitress who talked as through it. The food was very good and we eat out a lot and I would not hesitate to go back again when visiting Queenstown. My only little grip is why do restaurants think that a bottle of brut that has been open a day and is flat going to be acceptable at $18 . But this was quickly changed for me.

Probably my most favoured restaurant I've visited. Regular customer and never unsatisfied! This time round was probably the best I've experienced. Beef Tacos, Coconut Rice and Pineapple Bread are all sensational. Special mention to Derrin the waitress who was always smiling, very friendly and attentive. Couldn't be better!

After hearing a lot about Blue Kanu and it's "french polynesian fusion" food I decided to go there with my family for my birthday and was not let down.

The waitress (Kim) was very helpful in explaining how the menu all worked - it seems the best way to enjoy it is to get a few dishes and all share. This being said to enjoy Blue Kanu to it's full potential I'd definite suggest going in a group, just so you can try all of the unusual delights it has to offer.

Definitely a must go restaurant in Queenstown

Loved the Blue Kanu, went with a group of about 10, we ordered lots of dishes to share. Pork belly super, ribs delicious, salmon cerviche to die for . Every option was great. Suggest you order to share so you can experience lots of dishes.

We really enjoyed all but one of the dishes we had. Good service. It was VERY noisy - atmosphere more in keeping with a food court than a restaurant. We spent about $180 for 2 people and although it was nice we did not feel it was value for money.
