The MIlford Sound/Waterfall heli tour was fabulous. Mark cannot be praised enough for his impeccable organisation. We found him to be highly professional from first contact to post trip and would absolutely use his services again.
A truly mind blowing trip and one that has ruined us forever.
Thank you

“Hiking to the Glacier”
Reviewed 5 March 2016

Our two families including 3 adults and 4 college aged adults arranged a hike to the glacier with Mark, an area we would not have seen with out his guidance. We met up early and proceeded under Mark's direction to the parking area. First we forded several streams in our car. Left on our own, we may have stopped at the first stream however Mark had checked out the road and assured us it was fordable. We hiked successfully all the way up hearing the snowfall as we drew closer. It was a spectacular place and we felt honored to witness this beautiful glacier. The wide glacial valley, the birch forest, the streams and waterfalls and the final glacial view, all were stunning.

Mark was a good leader, familiar with the terrain and sensitive to our groups needs stopping for breaks and attending to one who was not feeling well. During our breaks, we asked about the flora and fauna around us. Mark has a great wealth of knowledge about so many aspects of the area and easily shared information on the geological, natural, agricultural, and historical past of New Zealand.

He brought a snack for the mid point of hour hike and after the hike we enjoyed a delicious lunch during which we had interesting conversations about the current state of the world and the climate. He was easy going and it was great fun to share our day with him. Mark is very highly recommended for helpful, informative hikes to some of New Zealand's most beautiful places. Thanks Mark, we hope to come back soon.

“Midford Sound and Middle Earth Waterfalls heli tour should be on everyone's bucket list!”
Reviewed 21 February 2016

This tour is one of the most impressive things we have done in our lives. If I was going to do only one thing in NZ, this would be it. You get to enjoy the majestic beauty of the place and it's diversity in one afternoon.

In summary, this is why I would book with Alpine Adventures:

1. Earnslaw Burn - the highlight of our trip to NZ and an exclusive to Alpine Adventures.
2. Away from the flocks of tourists - Mark does a great job to take you away from the crowds as much as it is possible.
3. Lunch - great food in spectacular settings for both our picnic and box lunch at the lake.
4. Greatly organized - you don't have to think of what you want to see, Alpine Adventures knows where to take you and shows you what are truly jewels of NZ. You can just relax and enjoy... no research necessary.
5. You get to learn about NZ and it's people from a local. You hear stories that are interesting and facts about NZ.
6. Helicopter is more likely to get you to Milford Sound over plane in case the weather is not the best. Helicopter trips are less likely to get canceled. Plus you will be able to make stops you can't make on a plane.

Alpine Adventures puts great effort to give you a more private look at NZ. Thank you Mark, we loved our time in Queenstown and surrounding areas.

“Two Days of Experience in New Zealand with Alpine Adventures”
Reviewed 24 January 2016

My wife and I spent several days on the south island of New Zealand earlier this month. In advance we had booked two days of touring with Alpine Adventures. One day we went tramping (what they call walking on a hiking trail in New Zealand) for 10 miles on the Routeburn Trail which was very enjoyable. The other day we flew on a small plane to Milford Sound for a boat ride. That was also a very enjoyable day. The reason why I bothered to write this review is because Mark Dewsbery, the owner of Alpine Adventures, went to great trouble to insure that we were able to experience these tours even though the weather conditions were variable most days that we were in New Zealand. I highly recommend Alpine Adventures because of their excellent personal service.

Thanks for the kind words Sanford, it was a lot of juggling around with your itinerary but I'm glad you managed to see the parts of NZ you and Alyce were most looking forward too!
All the very best for 2016 and we hope to see you both down this way again :)

“LOTR Waterfall Hike, but so much more”
Reviewed 13 January 2016

We were looking for an essential NZ experience, with a local guide, where we wouldn't see a lot of other people and just drink in the amazing scenery. Bingo! Mark delivered in all aspects and we came home with something we won't soon forget. Whether you are a LOTR fan or not, this hike hits all the highlights; stunning landscapes as you head up the valley, small waterfalls, big waterfalls and LOTR's waterfalls, glaciers and a grassland field tailor-made for lunch. As a professional guide, Mark is capable, clearly loves the outdoors, is knowledgable about nature and what we're seeing and walking on and offers a well organized experience. He is low key but we were able to pry some pretty fantastic LOTR stories from his personal experiences which thrilled the LOTR geeks in our group. We felt safe and in good hands at all times. Next time I would love to "tramp" and camp with Mark and his dog. Stop researching and book something with him!
