Enjoyed 3 indulgent nights at this stunning boutique hotel. Well positioned on the lakefront of Wakatipu soaking in the spectacular scenery throughout the day and night. Would highly recommend a stay at their Apartments for peace and privacy.

Eichardts is an incredible historical property which has been furnished to the utmost perfection. The suites are luxurious yet cozy and welcoming. A warm fire place to sit in front of with incredible views over the lake. You cannot beat the location, service is fantastic. Make sure you dine at the grille restaurant, recommend the akaroa salmon eggs Benedict and pop into the cozy bar for a drink. Enjoy!

Thanks for your lovely review, I'm delighted you enjoyed your Eichardt's experience.
Now that there is snow everywhere in the mountains, the fireplace is absolutely the place to be parked in front of with a nice Pinot and some tapas delivered to your suite, no need to go anywhere!
Having said that - we are enjoying the best start to the ski season for years so shake off the possum fur throw and get up Coronet Peak or the Remarkables and enjoy the fresh snow!

See you again soon,
James Cavanagh

We travelled as a group of 6 adults (3 couples) to Queenstown for a jampacked adventure weekend, seeking to take on all that Queenstown has to offer from wineries to skiing to extreme adventure sports.

We wanted a cosy, spacious and luxe base to head back to each day, while unwinding and taking in the sights of the lake, the Eichardts Private Residence provided that, and a whole lot more! The residence is set off-site from the main hotel nonetheless, in an amazingly located position allowing you to seek some privacy and enjoy breathtaking views. We were able to walk to all the best restaurants within 10 minutes (recommend the bunker, jervois, and botswana butchery for all foodies)! The Residence is a 3 story townhouse style accommodation within a small private complex.

The main level was perfection with a large open plan layout, allowing all to enjoy seamless conversation and fun from the kitchen, the lounge & fireplace, the dining table and the outdoors. The kitchen was stocked with all drinks, breakfast items and other goodies for us to enjoy (replenished each day).

Each bedroom was perfectly sized (2 bigger than the other), each with their own ensuite and amenities, allowing for some privacy, which is always needed when travelling in groups. Each room is equipped with a telly, skytv (equilavent to foxtel), netflix etc, for some downtime.

I would highly recommend this hotel for groups or families seeking a luxurious stay in the heart of the city.

Tips for the hotel - while this room is perfect, it could be even more blissful with a few additions - an addition of jacuzzi/spa on the bottom floor outdoor area; a decanter in the kitchen; and check in directly at the residence, rather than having to meet at reception.

Thank you for your review - I'm delighted you enjoyed your time in Queenstown and at the Residence!

It sounds like you had a fabulous time enjoying all the region has to offer, and with the early season snow in the mountains the chance to get up onto the slopes was perfect timing.

I appreciate the feedback you've mentioned, a hot tub is a great idea for the lower terrace I'll certainly look into that. We are happy to operate check in/arrival from the Residence itself, however it often helps orientate guests with the hotel's services to show off the spaces at our base before moving to the Residence - guest preference is always our guide on that front.

Looking forward to welcoming you back to Queenstown again soon!

Warmest regards,
James Cavanagh

Lovely apartment on the waterfront and in the heart of the action.

Wonderful people, great service. We’ll be back! Worth every penny.

The apartment is huge, warm and well equipped. You literally feel like you have a home away from home in very possibly the best location on the planet.

Spoil yourself and stay here at least once. We have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world thanks to my travel blog, from the Burj al Arab in Dubai to The Grand Timeo in Sicily and this is definitely in my top 5 ever.

Eichardts Hotel was truly the highlight of our 2 week New Zealand trip. Let me put it this way. Our 2 boys STILL talk about their love for this hotel. We have stayed at hundreds of luxurious properties around the world but this hotel will always remain one of the top ones. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment right across the Lake. Location was exceptional. The furnishings were fabulous. The service beyond gracious. I cannot pinpoint one con. I am a food and travel blogger (@foodie_ani on Instagram) and I have relentlessly told all my followers they MUST experience this beautiful town and one of a kind hotel. I am counting the days until I return :)
