Loved our little chalet at front of hotel . Fantastic location for the price we paid . It’s certainly not 5 star but nor is the price. I would of rated 5 stars but we didn’t feel the welcome or warmth from the staff that others talk of on checkin or checkout. In fact they were quite abrupt /bordering on rude. Would stay here again if the price was right.

I picked the hotel mainly due to its location, it’s a short walk, 5 to 10 min to the main dining and shopping area of Queenstown. If you are driving there is entrance to the hotel on both Melbourne street and Stanley street, there is parking available in front of the rooms and there is a overflow car park as well.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. It was a warm room but it also a heat pump in the room if it got too cold. The room was a little dated, but overall was fine, the one thing I did not like was the bath shower combo, but this is something I don’t like in general.

Overall for a one night stay this was fine

Great location about 5 min walk from town center. It also has washers/dryers for laundry. Shower was great room was big queen bed with city view) The only thing is no elevator so I had to drag my luggage a bit.

We travelled to Queenstown at the end of March 2018 and had booked this hotel. We are a family of 3 with a 11 year old. We got onto an airport shuttle from the airport, its a 15 min ride to the hotel, cost is about $35 for all of us. Best way to get to the hotel if you have luggage.
The hotel is about 10-15 min walk to the bus stop where most tours start from. Its also about a 20 min walk from the lake jetty and all the restaurants. Very convenient location.
Staff were nice and friendly. We stayed in a room with a twin and a queen bed, room as clean and airy.
Overall a very good stay.

We stayed for 1night at Heartlands, and I’m quite glad we didn’t stay for longer. We had a family room, which consisted of 2 floors, bedroom and bathroom downstairs and upstairs was a kitchen/dining area and 2 single beds. The upstairs had a nice view of the lake and part of Queenstown, we were on the 2nd row of accommodation so I assume those further back would have had a better view. The whole apartment was in need of refurbishment, the curtain tie backs were broken, the kitchen area looked old and the bathroom was in desperate need of attention ( bath seal needed replacing, shower wasn’t great, bath was marked). The reception area looked very nice, so I wonder if some areas of the hotel have been done up recently. Be warned that this hotel is up quite a hill from town, so if you are walking it’s quite a steep climb. We felt that this hotel was very expensive for what it was, especially as we have paid the same price or less for 2 nights in hotels/apartments in Christchurch, Wellington and Melbourne in the same 2 week holiday!
