Queenstown was our favourite stop on our North & South Island tour and the Heritage one of our favourite hotels. It’s slightly out of town (15 mins walk to the centre) but has great views of the lake, although our room looked out on the trees and stream at the back. The only reason for not giving it five * was the poor wifi (I can slightly sympathise as it’s a big, spread out estate) and the slightly drab bar area. The room was a good size with a nice bathroom with both bath and shower (not always the case in NZ in our experience). Helpful reception and concierge. The only slight surprise is that access to reception is via some quite steep steps, but painful with luggage. If you were in a wheelchair you would have to go round the back and enter by the bar.
Would certainly stay here again.
