This trip was amazing. Awesome cruise up the lake with amazing scenery. Walter Peak Station was so beuatiful. The staff were so attentive. And then the lunch! Perfectly cooked BBQ with an amazing range of veges and salads. It was a truly spectacular meal. A great experience and well worth it.

We went on the steamship to the Walter Peak Homestead and had a great day. The sheep shearing demonstration was interesting but the bbq lunch was an absolute winner.
The setting was just stunning overlooking the lake. The food was definitely gourmet with a wide variety of starters and salads along with vegetables and a very tasty array of barbq meats. Whats more you are encouraged to go back for more. If you leave room you may even fit in one of the lovely desserts or some of the sweeties before heading back on the ship.
The overall mood was relaxing and definitely not rushed. You can even take any unfinished wine or beer back on the boat.
I would definitely do this again. Great value for money... loved it.

We have done the Earnslaw trip over to Walter Peak for the gourmet bbq lunch twice now and still not disappointed. Mulled wine on the way over to the station a must, scenery amazing

We cruised on the TSS Earnslaw from Queenstown to Walter Peak Farm and back. Sadly we could only fit in the cruise as the farm looked beautiful so if you can fit that in then do it. The steam ship itself is really nicely preserved and you can see the inner workings. Lots of teak, a pianist on board, a lovely bar/ cafe offering reasonably priced hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, cakes, sandwiches etc. Space indoors and out over multiple decks. Toilets onboard too. Definitely worth doing.

We went with the lunch option and we were so happy we did! The most amasing lunch with a magnificent view. We both agreed it was one of the best meals with a great selection of food! The farm tour only involved a sheep shearing demonstration which was really the only disappointment of the whole trip. The info said their would be animal feeding but unfortunately we didn’t see that happening. The gardens are stunning and overall a good trip.
