This was a great experience that one can almost money can’t buy. We originally were slated to head out to Milford Sound with another company but they had to unfortunately cancel due to bad weather. We tried to call around to book locally and it was touch and go as we got pushed back a few times due to the last minute nature of the booking as result of cancellation and the fact that bad weather was headed in. Thanks to the staff for making sure we got on a flight (they need at least 4 pax before they take off). The view was nothing short of awesome as we chose to do the glacier experience......you fly for about 50 mins and also get 10 mins to move around a glacier. Jeremy our pilot was awesome and patient with us as we had a family (who were our fellow passengers) whose kids were flying for the first time
In a chopper so were understandably scared but they still enjoyed it. The full view of the glaciers on a clear day with uninterrupted 360 views made our day and we would strongly recommend it. A MUST DO

Many thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed review.

We appreciate the comments about Jeremy. He is a dad, with small children, so is very understanding in that situation.

We hope to share our fabulous landscape and views with you again, in the future.

Kind regards
Trish

To end a spectacular week in Queenstown we were privelidged to experience the dream ride on a helicopter trip out of Queenstown. The trip was about an hour and the weather was clear with just a tiny breeze. Our Pilot, Luke, is a great man, while we were rugged up he was sporting shorts - a strong Southern man who is a fantastic pilot and tour guide.
The views and experiences shown on photographs do not indicate just how awe inspiring the mountains, glaciers, valleys and jaw dropping scenery are, and anyone who has a chance to get on to these guys and experience some of the most amazing scenery you can imagine will not be disappointed in the experience. Bucket list special.

We truly appreciate your summary of your experience with us. So pleased that we were able to share a slice of our New Zealand paradise with you.

I'll pass you comments onto Pilot Luke. He is still wearing shorts today and it was quite cold this morning!

Thank you once again.

Kind regards
Trish

This is a must do, we took the plunge and did a much longer flight but in reality there is one for any budget, chances are you've done the shotover Jet. This is another level. I have been to QT 3 previous times, and the place just amazes me. I thought I had seeing it from every aspect, till I flew.

While the LOTR /Glacier flight is altered in the warmer month as you can not land on a Glacier. We were told as soon as we booked, and all options to change etc were offered. Communication was great and prompt.

Our flight then became more or less a susprise. I do believe in the fact that the local guys know better than me, so let them choose. I wasn't wrong, and even got to fly with Alfie, in the Helicopter you see on the brochures. So it does happen!

I'm a LOTR fan and Alfie pointed out where many of the filming locations were, some not on the usual LOTR location maps you would find through google. Alfie also explained where the production units were setup, how some of the equipment were ferried in, how long it was just facinating.

It was a smooth, stunning ride in total safe hands. Will do again in the colder month for a Glacier landing, and other locations. A must do!

So pleased you enjoyed your time with us.

Sounds like Queenstown will welcome you again in the future.

With the bridge disaster happening in Franz Josef, just 2 days before we were due to leave for our trip, it was so disappointed to have to cancel the planned heli flight onto the F.J glacier for my daughter and myself, especially as it was a birthday gift for her and a 'first time experience'.

However, I managed to book a 2pm flight with Glacier helicopters in Queenstown and surprised my daughter at the last minute. On arrival we were upgraded to a longer flight and Jeremy, our wonderful pilot, made sure that the birthday gal sat up front on the return journey. Jeremy flew us down the gorge that Tom Cruise flew down in Mission Impossible and his knowledgeable commentary throughout certainly added to the enjoyment of the whole experience.

Landing on the mountain was 'remarkable', with Jeremy taking photos of us both with our cameras as well as taking an 'official souvenir picture' which we purchased on landing.
The weather was perfect- clear but cold enough for warm jackets and sneakers as we stood by the glacial pool.

I highly recommend this tour even though we did not step onto snow, the experience of seeing the amazing, expansive landscape from the air was breathtaking. My daughter cannot wait to take another heli ride!

Dear Carole P

Every cloud has a silver lining!

So pleased you had the opportunity to fly with us in Queenstown. We appreciate your comments about Jeremy. He certainly has some great insights from the filming work we did on Mission Impossible.

We hope to see you again soon.

Ka kite ano.
