Owner description: Ziptrek Ecotours is NZ's #1 Original Zipline tour and is a spectacular eco-adventure through the forest canopy high above Queenstown, situated on Skyline Gondola hill. Ziptrek runs all year round and is stunning whatever the weather. With two tours to choose from it is suitable for everyone, whether looking for an introduction into Queenstown adventure (Moa 4-Line Tour) or wanting the latest gripping eco-exhilaration (Kea 6-Line Tour) which includes the steepest tree to tree zipline in the world.

This was so much fun!!! There are two options, a 4 line zip tour and a 6 line zip tour. The 6 line is more advanced but if you can do the first 4 then you can do the last two, and I recommend it. It's not as adrenaline pumping as I thought it would be, but a blast nonetheless.
Our zip guides were two females and they were great!! The views from the tree stands as well as the zip line are magnificent! Take a go pro.

Hi Julesclt,

Thanks for coming on tour with us and for your fantastic reveiw! Our Moa 4 Line Tour is ideal for first-time zippers and young families, whereas our Kea 6 Line Tour (which includes the world's steepest tree-to-tree zipline) is great for those looking for a bigger thrill. We agree that the views on both our 4 and 6 Line tours are magnificent! Great advice to take a GoPro. For those that don't have their own, we provide GoPro rental at our check-in treehouse. We also take photos along the course which our guests can come and view at our Queenstown store after their tour and purchase in either printed or digital format. Thanks again for taking the time to leave us your review!

Kind regards,
the Ziptrek Crew

It was snowing at the start of my Kea 6-line tour in July. Having been warned to dress warmly, though, I was comfortable and able to enjoy the zip-lining through the snow. The scenery was spectacular, the guides were friendly and competent and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Having also zip-lined in Rotorua in the North Island, I can report that the Rotorua experience gives less spectacular views, but it is more educational in that the guides spend more time explaining, and demonstrating, the work being done to preserve and restore the environment. It's well and truly worth doing both tours.

This takes 3 hours from start to finish. It's great fun although a little slow because it takes so long to get every guest down each zip wire. We did the 6 line zip so that's an average of one every half an hour! And at this time of year that's a lot of standing around getting very cold!!

Hi Humpyfamily,

Thanks so much for coming zipping through the trees with us and for taking the time to leave us a review. We are delighted to hear that you had such great fun on tour! We do endeavour to minimise wait times on each platform by only taking a maximum of 10 people on tour. We also encourage our guests to peruse our eco-information boards at each treehouse or take in the stunning views of lake Wakatipu while they wait. At this time of year, we encourage our guests to dress extrememly warmly (as if going skiing!) as Queenstown's winters can be quite cold and it is usually about 4 degrees cooler in the shade of the forest. The length of our tours is reflected in the fact that they offer a whole "experience", encompassing awesome ziplines, amazing unique views and learning about sustainability and our local environment.

Thanks again for your valued review.

Kind regards,
the Ziptrek Crew

Our guides were lovely as easy our group of 9 including us. Our 10 year old loved it. Not a super adrenaline buzz but good fun especially for the kids . Nice concept of sustainability behind the tour. More stories of early settlers would be nice but that's just my gig. Thanks Danni and danny

Had an amazing day with guides Danny and Jess, who put us all at ease, safety was paramount which relaxed everyone, and after the 1st tentative line they soon had us trying various positions travelling down the ziplines, Great fun while learning so much about the history and the environment. Glad we took the advice of the staff when we booked it to wrap up well, as it gets very cold in the shaded woods, A very pleasurable way to spend an afternoon, certainly gets the heart racing. Well done to all.

Hi Benala3,

Thanks so much for coming on tour with us and for your awesome 5 star review! We are delighted to hear that you had such a great time. Our course is designed to build your confidence, with the ziplines getting steeper and longer as you progress through each one. Our optional challenges (such as going upside-down) are a great addition for our guests looking to push themselves further out of their comfort zone! Definitely important to dress up very warm at this time of year. Ski gear all the way! Thanks again for your valued review.

Kind regards,
the Ziptrek Crew
