Owner description: Ziptrek Ecotours is NZ's #1 Original Zipline tour and is a spectacular eco-adventure through the forest canopy high above Queenstown, situated on Skyline Gondola hill. Ziptrek runs all year round and is stunning whatever the weather. With two tours to choose from it is suitable for everyone, whether looking for an introduction into Queenstown adventure (Moa 4-Line Tour) or wanting the latest gripping eco-exhilaration (Kea 6-Line Tour) which includes the steepest tree to tree zipline in the world.

Completed the 6 line Kea tour under the excellent guidance of Kevin and Sam. The guides had great banter to put everyone at ease but reassuringly they were also focussed on the necessary safety aspects too.

The lines provide fleeting views over the town and are a fun way to get back down the mountain rather than the return gondola. Challenges set by the guides make this zip line tour interesting...the trust step calls for you to override what your brain is telling your body to do. But there's no pressure, the guys make sure you get what you want out of the experience.

The short downhill walk between lines 5 and 6 builds the anticipation and adrenaline as you get set up for the steepest zip in the world. To coin a phrase , it's awesome! Travelling at near 70km/hr it's a relief to know that the guides are there to help brake your descent so you can truly make the most of the ride!

Great fun, exhilarating and important ecological messages shared along the way.

Only downside is that if you use the gondola you can't pay for a one way ticket.

Great guides, fun ziplines and 'challenges' to help everyone try new moves, and a beautiful view to top it off. The only possible negative is when I compare the actual zip line course to the other we did in Costa Rica which were over gorges and rivers, but the experience here was just as awesome as it pertains to the company.

This was the first time any of us had done zip lining and we were definitely nervous. The staff was great though. Becky helped to replan my schedule for the day so we could visit the Kiwi Birdlife Sanctuary and do ziplining. Romain and Nicola were our guides and they were very experienced, knowledgeable, and funny. Anyone can do this even if you're afraid of heights (might be the best alternative actually). The tension in the line eliminates any free fall feeling so doing tricks (which they'll show you) is not as scary. Only thing I would recommend is they could use some sign when you exit the gondola to show you which direction the checkin treehouse is.

Hi Christopher C,

Thanks for coming zipping with us and for your awesome 5 star review!

Fantastic to hear that Becky was able to help you with planning your day. Our Guest Services agents are extremely knowledgeable about the local area and always happy to offer advice. They can also answer any questions you have about your zipline tour and help put your fears at ease if you're nervous! While we aren't able to have signage at the top of the hill, we provide detailed directions to all of our guests who book direct with us and have made sure all of our booking agents know exactly where we are!

I will pass on your review to Nicola and Romain. Our guides have a great way of balancing fun and adventure with safety and professionalism. Well done on trying out our optional challenges on tour, including going upside-down and our "trust fall".

Thanks again for your valued review.

Kind regards,

The Ziptrek Team

This was so much fun! We weren't sure what we'd think, so we only signed up for the 4 line tour instead of the 6 line (which boasts it's the steepest zip line in the world). What a screw up, as we could have done this all day. Beautiful views, great guides who also shared some ecological info as we went, and enough of a thrill to get your heart pumping a bit. Highly recommend this!

Our guides were awesome, very helpful and safety there number one priority...our party of 4 in out 50s had no problems hanging upside down and managing the 6 ziplines. The gondola ride up is not included in the price and that's another kicker at $33 NZD. we got lucky and got free parking in front of the gondola. Not many places to park

Hi captkess59,

Thank you for coming zipping with us and taking the time to review your experience.

It's fantastic to hear you had such good fun on your Kea 6 Line Tour with your awesome guides. Kudos to you all for managing our optional challenges on course (like going upside-down) and for zipping the steepest tree-to-tree zipline in the world!
Our check-in Treehouse can be accessed either by taking the Skyline Gondola or hiking the Tiki Trail. The Gondola is operated by a different company and so the ticket price is not included in our tour. The Tiki Trail (about 60-80 minute walk) is also a fantastic way to reach the top, allowing you to take in Queenstown's natural environment. We do suggest allowing plenty of time to find parking in town before tours and our knowledgeable Guest Services agents are happy to advise on parking options around town.

Thanks again for coming on tour with us and for your valued review!

Kind regards,

The Ziptrek Team
