Owner description: Ziptrek Ecotours is NZ's #1 Original Zipline tour and is a spectacular eco-adventure through the forest canopy high above Queenstown, situated on Skyline Gondola hill. Ziptrek runs all year round and is stunning whatever the weather. With two tours to choose from it is suitable for everyone, whether looking for an introduction into Queenstown adventure (Moa 4-Line Tour) or wanting the latest gripping eco-exhilaration (Kea 6-Line Tour) which includes the steepest tree to tree zipline in the world.

Did the Kea tour as part of day up the gondola and luge. So. Much. Fun. Our guides, Tom and Welshie, were awesome and instilled confidence so we could really enjoy the experience. Had some great banter with the Aussies in the group. Would definitely recommend it to my friends and family. Thanks for the great afternoon team.

“Don't bother”
Reviewed 23 September 2015

Firstly the staff were great. Lots of knowledge and very friendly. The zip line was fun however was 100% not worth close to the amount of money we paid to do this. We did the 4 zips so you are only on the ziplines it self for under 5 minutes the rest of the time you are waiting for other people in front of you or listening to the staff talk about sustainability, which was interesting but not what you pay over $100 for. Wouldn't recommend. Save your money.

Hello 23Liv,

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

We are glad to hear that you found the guides to be knowledgeable and friendly, as you can see from all of the amazing reviews posted on here our guides are constantly getting mentioned for their outstanding customer service.

I am sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. Our Moa 4 line tour goes for up to 2 hours and is fully guided by 2 professional guides, who are with your group at all times. Along the way you are zipping from tree house to tree house soaking up the unique views of the surrounding forest as well as the amazing vista's of the lake and mountains, the lines are all gravity fed therefore the amount of time on each line will vary from each guest. The guides will also stop at each deck and provide an educational talk about Queesntown's history, geography and sustainability, which you found to be interesting. For us the eco-interpretation is just as an important part of the tour as the ziplines because without one or the other, neither would exist.

I'm happy that you had fun on the ziplines themselves and again thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.

Regards

Kellie

“Family fun”
Reviewed 22 September 2015

We took our family of 3 teenage boys onto the 4 zip line trip. Our guides were Arjun and Rhys. Both were extremely informative and v relaxed throughout.

At the start of each zip line they set us a challenge of a new way to get across which made for great times in seeing who could do what.

An excellent way to spend a morning!

“Best safe adrenaline fun for an afternoon - or morning.”
Reviewed 21 September 2015

Excellent way to enjoy some adrenaline with some great company. Zipping along the wires, safely with the fun of Welshie and Dan to add refreshing humour and relaxed professionalism.

“Exciting”
Reviewed 19 September 2015 via mobile

Ziptrek ziplineing is a fun way to spend a few hours. The staff are very accommodating, but more so professional. Safety is their priority throughout. Our guides, Inga and Argen took us through every step ensuring that we were in no doubt prior to leaping of the platform perched high in the forrest. It can appear quite expensive, particularly as the gondola tickets are not included. However, you can opt to walk up the hill, it takes about 75 minutes if you are reasonable fit. If you intend on zip lining in the colder months make sure that you wear the appropriate gear, including good quality cold weather socks, gloves and beanie. I can thoroughly recommend this activity should you have up to five hours to fill in whilst in Queenstown. Enjoy.
