Owner description: Ziptrek Ecotours is NZ's #1 Original Zipline tour and is a spectacular eco-adventure through the forest canopy high above Queenstown, situated on Skyline Gondola hill. Ziptrek runs all year round and is stunning whatever the weather. With two tours to choose from it is suitable for everyone, whether looking for an introduction into Queenstown adventure (Moa 4-Line Tour) or wanting the latest gripping eco-exhilaration (Kea 6-Line Tour) which includes the steepest tree to tree zipline in the world.

“A flying fox on steroids”

This is the second time I have been on the Queenstown Ziptrek. It is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon having a lot of fun. Ziptrek is for all ages, all you need is a scene of adventure, a good scene of humor and it helps if you are not afraid of heights. Today it was raining quite hard so we were all offered rain jackets, gloves, hats and over trousers. The staff are welcoming, encouraging and enthusiastic, they make sure that you understand exactly what you’re getting into. Safety is the number one priority and this is well blended with making sure your ziptrek experience is also fun filled. There are two zipping options, and I recommend the six zip option. You can zip through the forest looking at the wonderful Queenstown scenery or you can go crazy and hang upside-down looking at the world from a different perspective. Thanks so much to Jess and Henri, our guides today, who helped make our experience so much fun.

Good Afternoon,

I would like to thank you for your glowing review and positive feedback. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your first ziptrek tour so much that you came back to experience it all again. I will be passing your comments onto your guides, Jess and Henri, they will be very pleased that they made such a great impression. All of our staff are truly an asset to Ziptrek and pride our selves on delivering the welcoming, encouraging and enthusiastic vibe that you felt.

One of the advantages that set Ziptrek apart from other operators in Queenstown is that we will run in all weather conditions, therefore rain, snow or sunshine you are guaranteed that you will get to go ziplining. As you mentioned we do have additional layers for guests to borrow and you are also somewhat sheltered under the tree canopy of the Douglas fir forest. With Winter fast approaching Queenstown I would recommend to dress extra warmly and if you have additional layers such as rain/snow jackets, gloves and beanies to bring them along.

Wonderful to hear you felt that safety is our number one priority because it is definitely something we take seriously and pride ourselves on our high standards.

Looking forward to having you on tour for a third time next time you are in beautiful Queenstown.

Regards.

“Very good experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2015

I have done the 6 line tour with 3 teenage children and we really enjoyed it. After the tour I gave myself a big clap on my shoulder that I have done it because I am usually very anxious of falling. The guides were very knowledgeable about the area and the whole eco sustainability. The kids/young adults have done quite a few tree top climbing so even though they enjoyed this trip they would have rather liked to be more active involved instead of 'just' zipping through the forest. Well done team and keep up the great job!

“Not a huge adrenaline rush, but worthwhile fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2015

This was a great beginner's zipline tour. The ziplines were pretty short though. If you are considering it, definitely do the 6 zipline tour which is what we did. The 4 ziplines will leave a lot to be desired. The first 3 are just through the trees and the first 2 are very short. The 4th one is a nice view, and from what I can remember, the 5th one is a little longer and also has a great view. Then the last zipline is supposed to be the steepest tree to tree zipline in the world. It is still really easy to do and at least you can say you did the steepest tree to tree zipline. The guides are really great and a lot of fun. Really nice experience, but not a huge adrenaline rush so if that is what you are looking for, you won't get it here.

“Overpriced, over-hyped”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2015

If you've never been ziplining before, this might be an awesome attraction for you. But if you've been ziplining anywhere else, you will notice how overpriced this tour is for the number of zips you get. Plus, the "eco tour" side of the tour is unnecessary and makes the tour drag on longer than needed. 2 hours and US$100+ to do 4 zips? What a rip-off! In Nicaragua you get 15 zips for US$30. Even in Pennsylvania you get 8 zips for US$70. Moreover, the first 3 zips were in the trees, with only slight views of Queenstown on Zip 4. On the up side, our guides were nice and religiously followed safety procedures.

Good Morning,

Thank you for providing us with your feedback. It is valued and an important component for us to always be improving.

We're glad you found our guides to be nice and safety conscious as safety is our number 1 priority and our guides en-devour to provide an amazing experience. Our product is not developed to compete with the high adventurous products that exist in Queenstown. Everyone's levels of adventure is different and its unfortunate that the Moa 4-line didn't meet your personal expectations. Possibly the Kea 6 line tour that includes the steepest tree to tree zipline in the world would have suited you better. As you can see from the number of positive reviews on here the majority of our guests enjoy the interpretative eco component and have a blast on the ziplines. For us the eco-interpretation is just as an important part of the tour as the Ziplines because without one or the other, neither would exist.

Again we truly appreciate your feedback.

Regards

“Fabulous experience - just do it !”

There were just the two of us, so we had the undivided attention of our very knowledgeable and friendly guides Jess and Kate. My wife does not particularly like heights, but she loved every moment and we would definitely recommend it.
