Muskets and Moonshine
Ranked #5 of 299 Restaurants in Queenstown
Price range: US$8 - US$20
Description: Serving grub from the Southern United States with that unmistakable Kiwi twist, head to Muskets and Moonshine for a chilled one. Just like its name, everything about this place is playful and fun. Chairs come in a gorgeous muddle of different shapes and sizes and chandeliers hang from the ceiling whilst the big game is being shown on the big screen. And it wouldn’t be complete without its roaring fire and board game cupboard! You’d better be hungry for their characterful jambalaya, a bold dish with spicy rice, shrimp and pork belly (the veggie version is just as delicious!) Alternatively, go for the award winning Hereford beef rump or the crispy herb crumbed chicken, an unabashed crowd-pleaser. You can even share a whole roast chicken or merino lamb shoulder with your choice of sides. Wash it all down with one of their tasty beers on tap and their signature cocktails are worth a sip too! Giggle Water? Book us in!

We went to this restaurant due to the good reviews on Trip Advisor. It did not disappoint! We had typical bar food but it was very good. My nephew tried several mixed drinks and all were great. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would recommend a visit!

We had a great meal here. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was superb, especially the lamb rump. Good selection of wine and beer. Even the bill was a nice surprise. Excellent value for money for Queenstown. Highly recommended.

Came here for a work dinner so had reserved the upstairs which worked great. Unfortunately they served 4x people at a time due to their kitchen size which meant the last table had to wait an hour and a half to eat! Disappointed as we gave them a months notice to prepare. Also had to ask for our plates to be cleared and our drinks to be topped up. Lucky the food was good

It's a shame your review is not a little more truthful. You were not served 4 people at a time but yes your group was on a table of 12 and the rest on tables of 4 and your meals were served all withing 30 minutes of ordering although it did take a little longer to get the order processed as you felt the need to belittle our waitress who was just trying to do her job efficiently as she does with many large groups. As for the plates not been cleared, as you could quite clearly see we were clearing your groups plates (we have to go up and down stairs and each person can only carry so much) before your demanded your plates cleared before everyone else.
I can also see you do like leaving negative reviews on venues which is a shame as many of those are small family run venues much like ours, the damage you do is extremely detrimental and without any fair reason.
On the plus side your group were lovely and even apologized to our waitress and manager for your behavior.

The food at Muskets and Moonshine is superb - highly recommend the blackened fish, and the lamb rump. The service is spot on too. It’s a great place to eat nice food, enjoy good drinks and soak up the chilled atmosphere.
