Amazing experience

Review of Hulbert House
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 15 Oct 2024via mobile
Just a fabulous accommodation experience. Tav, Laura, Kiko and Chris did an amazing job of looking after all guests. The breakfasts were delicious. Evening canapés and drinks were excellent. The rooms and house are beautifully appointed and the views are superb. Will return.

Gorgeous boutique property with only 7 rooms and personalised service. Loved the decor! Excellent al a carte breakfast, no dinner on site, but we loved the free drinks from 5-7pm with cakes & canapés and fabulous views across the lake from the terrace. The host Chris was excellent, so friendly and welcoming! All staff go out of their way to ensure your stay is comfortable. Would highly recommend!

Room tip: Up a very steep hill! Worth it for the views but ensure you have a car or take a taxi if less mobile.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I felt like a queen! This house has the most perfect view of Queenstown and the lake and i was in the incredible room with a bay window and HUGE bathroom. It was heavenly! I love boutique hotels but this was a few levels up! The food was delicious and breakfast choices were always new and fresh. I have a bad stomach and new zelanad food is so clean i could eat everything they served - through out all of new zealand too! c’mon beer and pizza! ha! back on topic - Hulbert houseis a fantastic and memorable place to stay! have them help you with tours and the outrageous spa where you take a hot bath with treats while seemingly hanging off the side of a steep mountain! I’ll never forget that either! Hulbert house - the room with the bay window overlooking queenstown is Honeymoon worthy! ha!

Room tip: Get ready to be totally relaxed and don’t pass up a stay at the spa Everyone knows about!!

What a wonderful experience. The room we stayed in was beautiful and the bathroom huge but the best thing is the service. The staff went above and beyond to provide wonderful service. We had an early start on the day of our departure and they arranged for the chef to start earlier to provide our tasty breakfast. And then arranged transport so we didn’t have to navigate the steep hill with our luggage. Fantastic experience and we thoroughly recommend for a bit of luxury in Queenstown. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Hulbert House is an absolutely beautiful place to stay!!!! We could not fault it! All the staff treated us like royalty and were so helpful and friendly and could not do enough for us. The house was always a lovely place to return to after a day out, the staff were always welcoming and it was always nice and cosy and warm. We have stayed in many places and this one is up there with one of our favorites. The staff and owners are doing everything right when it comes to providing luxury accommodation and we genuinely wish them the best during these tough economic times. Thank you Hulbert for having us and for making our stay so wonderful.

Room tip: You wont regret staying here. Right in the heart of Queenstown with fabulous views!

We concur with all of the previous reviews -- what a wonderful property with such gracious hosts. Chris, Tav, Sasha, and everyone we encountered during our visit made our stay in Queenstown outstanding. From the accommodations and the views to the breakfasts and the wine hour(s) in the evening, Hulbert House was a dream. We especially noticed the details: the music playlist in the afternoons was always on point, the fragrances throughout the building were refreshing and not cloying, and the fresh bottles of water and chocolates on the nightstand after turndown service were a welcome sight after a long day of activities.

As so many have said, the incline from town up to the property is indeed steep (think San Francisco). We found it fairly easy to trip down the hill into town and then grab an Uber (less than NZ $10) back up the hill afterwards.

If we ever find ourselves back in Queenstown, we would DEFINITELY stay at Hulbert House again, without question.

Room tip: Rooms with a view of the lake can't be beat!
