The ferry is nice. Good size. Not too big, not too small. The price is 79 per head. Variety of food to choose when u get on board. The price of the food and drinks are reasonanle. I will recommend to go with this one.

Real journey gave us the worst experience of NZ,uncooperative rude staff who are just interested in money money n money..would not recommend any of ill to travel from this company they will just do anything possible to ruin your holiday
Don’t book any Milford cruise with them.
When they don’t operate the cruise for any reason, they ask you to go with Real Journey’s. The boat was too big, the cruise shorter and they didn’t gave us anything else than a bad tea (whereas they let you think they will offer a breakfast) ... It doesn’t worth the price we paid ; Jucy Cruise seems to be a really better value for money !!!
We did both tours with Real Journeys and both were epic and inspiring. Out of the 2 we preferred Doubtful Sound
Doubtful Sound tour picked us up from Queenstown at the Real Journeys office and took the 2-3 drive to Manapouri where you board a boat for an hour ( beautiful) then the tour really starts with a final 1 hour bus through thick bush with an exceptional tour guide all with really interesting stops and photo ops. When you stop and see DS for the first time it is unbelievable
You board the boat and from minute one are treated like kings, the crew and staff were amazing, so passionate about the region and the nature plus so knowledgable. Our cabin was great, more spacious than we were expecting as told to leave tour large suitcases in Queenstown but we had plenty of room.
The Navigator is huge and comfortable with a bar and restaurant and numerous great vantage points to view the wonders of Doubtful Sound. It’s a truly mesmerising place and the staff made the experience by explaining so well the history, nature and how it was formed. We go lucky and saw a huge amount of whales, surrounding the boat for over an hour and the captain just turned off the engines and let all the passengers and crew enjoy the experience ( probably 20-30 Humpbacks, why better than Kiakouria ) we also saw penguins, seals, Albertross etc
It was a pretty moving experience and very special. We did Milford Sound also a few days after but felt that was a bit more production line and is a lot more touristy
DS you get at least 3-4 hours more on the boat, Milford we didn’t board till after 4 and were off around 9.20am next day. Everything on MS was a bit more rushed, ie the boat trip on DS was one of the highlights, we were out in the water for ages exploring up and close the fjords but at MS we were on and off quite quickly. Overall the staff made the difference, DS gets 10k visitors a year whereas MS is 1m so it feels like they care more, understand more and more knowledgable and appreciative
Did the cruise earlier today, 1.5 hour long and it was amazing!! Spectacular views from the boat! Highly recommend.
Milford is now my favourite place on earth. This nature cruise was fantastic I would highly recommend booking with this company. We booked on line and got a free lunch which was a very nice touch. The lad doing the commentary was fantastic and sat and spoke with us about the different NZ wildlife. We saw dolphins penguins and seals and had wonderful sunshine. The boat we sailed on was magnificent. One of my favourite trips in NZ you will not be disappointed if you book.
