We took the overnight cruise which was really a wonderful opportunity. We were on the lower level and didn't have a nice view except for a porthole we couldn't see through. Food was good for a buffet. We were able to enjoy kayaking. Parking was a little tough.

We did this overnight cruise on 11th Feb 18 and booked it months in advance. Sadly it rained heavily throughout the evening and was dull all the next day too. Nothing anyone could do about it but we were not allowed to walk on the Milford track for safety reasons.Again no ones fault just our bad luck.
I reiterate what other travellers have said we were disappointed with the 30 minutes cruising time before we set anchor for the night. I went kayaking in the rain and did swim with other travellers. My partner went on the boat tour and the guy was quite funny and informative.
When we all got back on the boat we showered and ate our meal which was good quality and quantity. The evening went a bit flat then for us. The staff sat in the dining space playing their own board game. There lacked for me an atmosphere. The staff didn’t engage with anyone and after a couple of drinks after the meal most people were in bed by 900pm. We were all English speaking on this trip a quiz would have brought people together I felt. (Or something we all could do together).
The boat was fine small nicely renovated and clean showers.
The problem is I think it is such a well oiled machine this trip there is a danger of that being conveyed to the guests. I know it must be so repetitive for the staff but for us it was a once in a lifetime experience. The wildlife girl and I have forgot her name was excellent on her commentary and engaging with guests. She was very good but we hardly saw or spoke to the others.
We felt unfortunately like we were just numbers !!. Shame but the scenery was superb. We did not see any dolphins but one thing the rain does do is make for some fabulous waterfalls.

We were lucky with the weather for the trip. “Curls” the coach driver was outstanding with loads of interesting info and great stops along the way. The packed lunch on the boat was very good and again the commentary was excellent. Wonderful
sights and views for almost two hours on the Sound and a good coach journey back. Great experience made more so by the professional service. Outstanding.

Booked the Real Journeys Milford Sound bus-cruise-flight day trip from Queenstown on a beautiful day (luckily). Coach was long but well narrated and got nice views and history with Roland as our driver. Cruise was a large ship that was busy but we found quite relaxing. What sceneries!! You NEED to see this area if have not been. The flight back on the Cessna owned by Real journeys was a highlight - amazing views of the Southern Alps and back over Milford Sound. Only a 40 min flight and well worth it. Best adventure of our trip.

We were originally booked to fly cruise fly with a different company but the flight was cancelled and we decided to drive here and hope that we could get a cruise. We booked on spec at the information desk with real journeys. We were told we needed to take a 10 minute walk to the dock - this is a good 10 minute walk even at my fastest pace. Luckily we made it on time. The cruise lasted about 1 hour 45 minutes and we got very close up to the waterfalls which were spectacular. I would recommend this company for a tour if you are in the area. The wetter the weather, the better the waterfalls. Very impressive place to visit and informative commentary without being too much. Free parking. Food and drinks available on board.
