Milford Sound is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful parts of the world, and this overnight cruise is a great way to see it. We had a great time and credit to the crew. The food was exceptional and the staff very accommodating. There were only a couple of things we would let people know. The cabins are small but cute, but there is little air flow and all of our group of 9 has trouble sleeping in the stuffiness and heat. Our cabin also lost most of its lighting and we had to shower in the dark. The bar prices are very high (even for tourist places), and my beer was hardly cold. Nevertheless the deck is a wonderful place to hang out in the evening and the sights are wondrous to see. We would recommend this cruise, a lot more that the the 3 hour afternoon cruises that you can do.

Was really impressed with Real Journeys. Easy to book. Organised the picnic lunch onboard at the main office the day before. $18 for the small picnic was excellent value for money and a good variety of food. We were picked up at our hotel by a taxi in the morning and taken to the main office in Queenstown for check-in. The bus was brilliant. Purpose built for sight seeing. Big glass windows, glass roof, tiered seating front to back and offset seats for better viewing. Roland our bus driver was funny, informative and engaging. The cruise of course was the cherry on the cake! Outstanding scenery!! A great day thanks to Real Journeys. Could not fault them.

Visiting Milford sound is must-do activity in NZ south island. The scenery is spectacular but I did not encounter any wildlife except seal. In my point of view, 2-hour cruise is sufficient and may not necessary to spend overnight. I took coach-cruise-coach tour and my departure point was Te Anau. The coach departed from Te Anau real journey office at 10:30 AM. On the way to Milford Sound, there were two or three stops for a photo opportunity and one stop for a toilet break. There is no toilet on board. The journey to Milford sound took about 2 and half hours. We reached to Milford about 1:15 and embark the cruise. The cruise departed at 1:35 and took about 2 hour. The return trip to Te Anau took about 1 and half hour and we reached to Real Journey Te Anau office about 5:30 PM. The scenery around Milford is stunning and love the cruise ride. Overall, it is a fantastic day trip.

From booking online to disembarking from the boat this was a perfect trip. This is very organised and efficient machine which processes numbers without blinking an eyelid. We choose the overnight cruise on the Milford Mariner and not disappointed. Ideal weather in that we got the rain to start the waterfalls and the blue skies and sunrise. The captain and crew were brilliant, not only from a safety perspective, but in ensuring that we got the maximum out of what is about 18 hours on board. The cabins are extremely comfortable and the food was also of a very good standard. Even the Tasman Sea behaved itself for us. Idyllic place and a perfect trip. Highly recommended.
