After finding out in Queenstown that the Bellavista was a chain, we looked for them, and were so happy that the charming city of Invercargill boasts a Bella Vista! We took another queen studio, which means a kitchenette, with good little fridge, microwave, lots of kitchenware, and a real kitchen sink to wash our dishes in. We are getting used to the nicely firm beds, the great bathroom, fine shower, and the cleanliness throughout, as well as the very friendly owners and staff. Though we like cooking on this small a scale, our host suggested restaurant "the Saucy Chef", a few blocks' walk away, and it was a bullseye choice! (review elsewhere). We stayed two nights in our "home", and in this enchanting city, with the beautiful Queen's park, with the Museum inside the park. Lucked in to the first day of the international Sheep shearing Competitions! We can recommend the Bellavista very highly. Free WiFi!

My wife Kate and I had a wonderful one night stay in Bella Vista Invercargill last week. We were met and welcomed by Kelly who was helpful, efficient and a really nice person - made us feel very welcome and as a result, we enjoyed our stay in Invercargill much more than we might have done. She gave us information on Stirling Point, Burt Munro's motor cycle and gave us restaurant information for dinner (Saucy's) and breakfast (Mitre) - just superb. Thanks Kelly. Stayed 2 nights for work. Check in and out was a breeze. Room on second story with no lift and with a big suitcase that was a pain. Room was on the small side. Bed was comfortable but space around the bed was limited. Bathroom though was a different story it was huge. Great shower with awesome pressure. Only issue was it didn't have a detachable hose only a rose out of the wall. Basin was huge with plenty of room for a big toilet bag. And the best thing was they had mini cookie time cookies in the room to have with a cup of tea...
