Yeah! Nine older women visited The Club on12th January 2024 and at last The Club has improved their standard of food.Beautiful food, and for retired folk, the smaller plate, and dessert plate is a brilliant idea, and all for $16. We hope within a short time just by word of mouth, the restaurant will become the "Must Go To" place to eat in Invercargill. Congratulations for turning it around. 😋

Went and ordered the 3 course meal for $20. The girl that took our order was chewing gum which looks very unprofessional and not interested.
The soup looked like dishwater, with a few vegetables and very tasteless, also lukewarm. Others we spoke too said the same comment about the soup
Our main course was acceptable, but too many chips .
The dessert was very nice.
The manager of the restaurant needs to address her staff about chewing gum, it’s not acceptable. Also soup needs to be tasty and hot.

The managers of the organisation I volunteer for allocate organised a Christmas dinner for its' volunteers. I am surprised that $20 per head can buy much these days let alone a three course meal and a beverage. The food was dismal. The kid sized meals consisted of deep fried and boiled processed food. The date pudding measured 2cm by 3cm and the soup looked like dirty dish water. It was the most depressing meal I had in my life. I think that the Working Men's club needs to get rid of the $20 menu because it is unrealistic to be expected to serve something that is acceptable for $20.

I am a fan of Working Men's Clubs so was disappointed on my visit to the Invercargill club. It was just so crowded and noisy because of so many people all trying to talk at once. It is obviously popular with its buffet meal for $28/per person including dessert. The meal was standard pub food and you could go back for seconds. The food kept running out. They did have plenty of food but the bowls, particularly of dessert were emptied very quickly. People were taking huge portions despite a notice saying to take only what you will eat. I wouldn't go back on a Saturday night given the choice, but certainly on a quieter night.
