We had a wonderful dinner here on Feb. 27th. Got to try native seafood at its very best. All was beautifully prepared with a fine, subtle use of spices which did not overwhelm the fresh seafood but enhanced it. Side dishes were also excellent and portions were generous. There were plenty of options for drinks. The service couldn't have been better, friendly but quite professional and knowledgeable about all menu items. Dessert was also remarkable. During a month in New Zealand, this was one of the two best dining experiences we had. There are also options for those who don't like fish but if you are a fish and seafood eater, Plato is not to be missed.

We had a wonderful meal here, so good we came back the next day. The food is excellent, the ambience is really lovely and the staff are delightful. And all at a very reasonable cost. We reckoned the best meal in New Zealand after 3 weeks travelling on both islands.

All the waiters/waitresses served us were so nice and welcoming! We went there for some fresh seafood platter, which was not on the menu but the chef was kindly made one for us! All the seafoods were cooked perfectly and so fresh, and it wasn’t expensive at all! The place is unique and comfortable as well with all the collections and decorations on the wall. This place was the best dinner for us during our two weeks NZ trip!

During our stay in Dunedin we were on the lookout for a decent Seafood restaurant, the reviews on TA, sounded encouraging so we headed off to the restaurant for opening at 6, was worried we would be to early and the restaurant would be empty, well I should never doubt my wife, the place was full by half six, the exterior and seating for the restaurant is very urban, in the interior quirky with loads of great ornaments you might find out at a Sunday boot fair in your local field, but it seems to work, do not put off by the exterior and position, if you venture inside you will be handsomely rewarded with amazing food, the menu was expertly explained by a French Waiter (they know what they are talking about) Starters were amazing I had shark the wife had fish fritters both amazing, the main event kept up the high standard I had Gurnard and the wife had Tuna, both dishes outstanding, all washed down with a bottle of local Pinot Gris, tremendous.
A great night with great food, nice relaxed feel about the place, with the staff knowing their onions with regards to the menu. A must do if you visit Dunedin

Came here for dinner recently and after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor was really excited to try some nice seafood. Although the food was nice it wasn't amazing so was a bit disappointed. I had seafood chowder which I always love. The seafood chowder had a curry flavour to it which was quite different to other seafood chowders I'd had. Place is very quirky and different. Not a bad place but didn't meet expectations.
